They'll be in the discussion because that's literally the committees job, but I think at the end of the day, I think the four team that get in will be conference champions, and Georgia isn't a conference champion.
I hear you, but I don't think this would be a good/fair test. Had Oregon had one game to determine if Nix was ready, and that one game was a bowl game against Georgia where Oregon lost 49-3, I think some would be saying "uh, this is not the guy." Going from end of the game, 2nd string defenses against Cal/ASU/Stanford to the 1st string defense of a pissed off Alabama team where Saban had a month to prepare is a big jump I wouldn't wish on anyone.
The three undefeateds are in, can't imagine they get left out. Bama has to be above Georgia, just beat them H2H and won the conference. Don't see how Bama can be picked over Texas though. Texas won H2H on the road in Bama. Only loss was away from home. Won the conference. I might even listen to an argument of Ohio State over Bama. Will be surprised if Texas is not in. They'll be in SEC next season so it's almost like saying a SEC team made it.
You kind of have to go with the conference Champions. I don't think there is any other real way to justify anything else at this point.
More evidence to back my claim that the band means nothing and what matters is the wins and losses. I again see it was just way too early to enter a Duck thread and speak about anything negative.
I think there’s a pretty good chance Nix would play against an SEC opponent. You probably get Ty against anyone else.
Texas is gonna spank dat ass. Won’t be surprised to see Alabama take it all, much as I struggle to say that.
