That is huge. To come out of the portal with two of the top QBs is insane. Now let's get that OU offensive lineman and a D lineman.
Seriously... unprescendented to land two top 10 QBs in one portal class. It's pretty clear Moore knows there's a high likelihood he'll be a backup next year and the fact he's still coming is a great sign!
So according to rivals portal rankings, the Ducks have landed the #3 and #6 best overall players and are thought to be the likely destination for the #1 & #8 https://n.rivals.com/transfer_tracker/football/2024 STOMP
The only real rule is the school can't offer the players any money. But what is happening is that NIL collectives are taking money that would normally go to the school (or previously for under-the-table payments) and paying players. Big time collectives are probably paying around $10m/year to players.
I've read both sides feel good about their chances though OM is being more public. We shall see Other stuff... Oregon is expected to land the commitment of NT Jericho Johnson adding to easily the highest ranked DLine class they've ever had. They are also thought to be the landing spot for transfer portal NT Derrick Harmon. Wednesday should be fun! https://n.rivals.com/content/athletes/jericho-johnson-297782?view=pv https://n.rivals.com/content/athletes/derrick-harmon-240214?view=cv STOMP
Which would make back to back loaded classes on the defensive front. Stacking classes together is where programs can really do damage! Offensive class is looking pretty weak all things considering, but I'm not worried.
On top of Nolen being an Ole Miss lean, all the recent reporting has Cayden Green as a Missouri lean. Looks like Oregon is likely to miss out on #1/#8 on this list... though things can change quickly!
rumors are: Ducks would like to add Green but were more interested in Mathew Bedford, from Indiana. He is a more expereinced and versatile OLineman. He's started all over the OLine except for C. That might have a lot of value with a left-handed QB like Gabriel I think Nolen is going to Ole Miss. And I think Green will go to Missouri I anticipate a flip or two away from Oregon with the HS class. NLI day is Wednesday. WR Dillon Gresham may flip. And it might be hard to hang on the QB Luke Moga with the Gabriel/Moore additions. The committed class is just loaded with defensive players. Quite a reversal from the Chip Kelly years. And it's clear that Lanning prioritzes the trenches and winning the line of scrimmage edit...just saw on On3 that A&M is back into the running for Nolen to remain and Aggie. If that's true, pretty clear the guy is leveraging, or trying to, the biggest bag he can get. I think visiting Oregon was getting the starting point offer
