If they're healthy they'll be a mediocre to tough team.

I wouldn't count on them staying healthy.

oh no, looks like I've stepped in it and I have to offer an appology. You've a well established reputation for being delightfully untethered to reality and we all appreciate the unfiltered hot takes in thread after thread after thread after thread after thread, so it was my bad for being confused over who was posting factual nonsense. Given context, you are completely correct that Golden State didn't just beat the team with the best record in the league. The surge they've had of late which coresponds with Klay rounding into form is only relevant if you say it is. Furthermore, the Warriors didn't win an NBA championship with largely this same roster just a year and a half ago because as you stated they are a bad team. I am such a giant butthole, so sorry, the flailing personal attack was totally justified. Merry Christmas!

I wouldn't count on any team staying healthy, heck look at whats happened with Portland's young roster this season. Without a doubt their ultimate fate is largely tied to the health of Curry and Klay as they are their two primary offensive threats and none of the young guys seem capable of replacing that. That said what their two rookies are showing has been impressive and they've considerable upside IMO with Wiggins struggling and Draymond and GP2 out.

True. I'm glad we have their pick. That was a good move.

in case anyone needs a full accounting of the Blazers trade(s) this summer with Jrue Holiday's return added in:

    Blazers traded:

    • Damian Lillard
    • Jusuf Nurkic
    • Nassir Little
    • Keon Johnson
    + • Jrue Holiday

    For:

    • DeAndre Ayton
    • Toumani Camara
    • Robert Williams III
    • Malcolm Brogdon
    • Blazers option to swap 2028 first round picks with Bucks (from Bucks) (?-?)**
    • 2029 first round pick (from Bucks) (?-?)
    • Blazers option to swap 2030 first round picks with Bucks (from Bucks) (?-?)**
    • 2024 first round pick (Warriors pick protected top 4 in 2024, top 1 in 2025, unprotected in 2026) (?-?)
    • 2029 first round pick (from Boston) (?-?)

personally, I think it was a kind of mediocre return compared to other recent major trades. The return would get a little better if the Warriors pick was later in the lottery; and worse if it was in the 17-21 range. If Portland trades Brogdon, then that's probably adding some assets, although I don't expect any guaranteed 1st round pick

and yeah, some of those future picks and swaps might end up valuable but they are 5-7 years away

The W's are probably the team with the widest spread between their floor and ceiling this season. From the digging I've done on the prospects from the next draft, I'm unfortunately unimpressed with the potential of their pick whether it ends up on either end. Hopefully the W's fall flat and the individual prospects exponentially improve, but again at this point I'm a meh...

This draft may be similar to 2013. No obvious star but plenty of prospects that could turn into something. A mid first round pick could be nice.

definely could be, but almost certainly should be looked at as a long term project

Yep. Good comparison.... but you can't count on a Gainis happening again.

Only about 20 players who will make it to rotation players on second contracts.

Of those 20, only about 10 are starter quality (5 are higher end starters). If everything breaks right, then you could get 1 or 2 all star level talents.

Playing the Heat in San Francisco, the Warriors kept their deficit to less than 10 until halfway through the 3rd quarter. Then never got back into the game.
Jimmy Butler, Kyle Lowry, Caleb Martin, and Josh Richardson did not play for Miami.

Warriors record continues to be trash against serviceable teams.

2024 first round pick (Warriors pick protected top 4 in 2024, top 1 in 2025, unprotected in 2026)

So, if we don't like 2024 pick, we can wait another year, right?
Also, can we trade this pick with other team?

Tnx, but I don't get it. Do we have to take 2024 pick?

If 1-4, no. If 5 to 30, yes.

Unless it falls within the top 4 selections, the rights to the Warrior's 2024 1st round pick is owned by Portland. The Blazers can use it or trade it, the same goes for their own pick(s)

Started Davis, Kuminga, Paul, Klay, and Curry tonight. Was favored by Vegas too. Down by nine at the half. Even more at the end of the third.

They tied up a lot of future picks from being dealt outright with this pick and the Washington deal. Could do swaps and might be ready to make a deal.
