I thought it was not just rookies it was all players? Regardless he is having a pretty awful rookie year but I'm not giving up on him yet. I think it's not a good idea to burry ones head im the sand and think everything will be fine, he has some glaring issues in his game but if he works on them he has the ability to be decent. He might never be a star, but he can be a decent starter one day. it is kind of sad to see our top 3 pick probably won’t even make the rookie second team.
He kind of reminds me of Emmanuel mudiay.. hopefully he turns out better than him but mudiay had a much better rookie season that scoot has so far.
There's a difference between burying your head in the sand and just looking for the positives. You have some of the most negative takes in this place, it seems pretty miserable. Scoot doesn't just have the chance to be decent one day, the dude has all of the tools to be an all star in this league, he's just not putting them together. The only weakness that I see needing major work is his shot, the rest is just about him not forcing things and that will come with time... seriously the only thing that he needs to straighten out his fouling, errant passing and not finishing at the rim is reps. If Scoot would just calm down all of his problems besides shooting would go away and he'd already be a decent starter but with most guys settling into this league takes some time.
If it means anything, Scoot is a great kid and definitely one to root for. I always root for the nice, down to earth players. Saw my daughter in the lobby Tuesday night and came over to introduce himself. Shit, we just met a month ago. Good dude! Hoping the same amount of people on here who had him heading straight to the HOF in September, give this 19 YEAR OLD some time to adjust to this game.
Scoot doesn't 'qualify' because he hasn't logged enough games, but if he did, on a per 100-possessions basis, he's averaging 8.2 PF's. This is that current ranking with Scott added: Chris Duarte 8.8 Andre Jackson Jr. 8.4 Scoot Henderson 8.2 Jaxson Hayes 8.1 Isaiah Hartenstein 7.8 Stanley Umude 7.4 Paul Reed 7.2 Jae'Sean Tate 7.2 P.J. Tucker 7.2 Charles Bassey 7.1 he's a rookie and he's often defending at the point-of-attack so obviously the officials will be in quick-whistle mode...but still...
from everything I've seen, I think Scoot, at minimum, will become a solid starter with some dynamic skills. If he can solve his shooting issues, and ratchet down his turnovers (way down), he'll be a lot better than solid
His biggest issue is finishing. His shooting is already becoming much better. I don't have any concerns with him. He's a workhorse who is literally getting better with each game. He's gonna be great.
I hope you're right, but I do have some concerns. and I'm not sure his shooting is getting much better; maybe. 269 points on 266 shots is pretty bad. Last 3 games it's 64 points on 59 shots
His three point shoot has been steady improving. He's a tank and he hasn't even figured out how to get to the line consistently. But he will...
He's played 20 games. Not sure a judgement can quite yet be made on how much he may or may not improve, especially at age 19.
