I think GS would jump on that possibly even for just Tisse as he is just not someone to be throwing into deals to make the math work. We got him for a couple of second round picks and has played as well as we could possibly have wanted. That would be the type of trade I would want to do to gamble on Kuminga. I would be in favor of Matisse and giving them back this years pick for Kuminga and next years pick unprotected.
Probably not that would give us immediate help, but it is impossible to project how some of these young players internationally and in college will turn out in another 3 years. I look at Kwame Evans a 6'9" 220 freshman as one example. (Only because I watch every Oregon game and have seen him more than anyone else) I have no idea how he will turn out but he is getting better every game. Now I would not take him in the lottery, maybe not even in the 1st round at this point, but the kid has size, skill, and athleticism. He could be our answer at PF in 3 years or he could end up overseas. Way too early to tell for him and numerous others who are much better than him at this point.
Over the last 8ish years, what percentage of players have left Golden St only to have significantly better production elsewhere? Seems like a low percentage. I'm not interesting in giving up anything of value for players on their roster.

I don't agree. This draft is so devoid of clear cut top end talent that you might get the best player in the class at 10. This is where the truly talented evaluators will stand out.
the Blazers middle rookie should get instant run in this program. This Blazer squad has bad shooting and bad rebounding gaps to fill. By drafting a kid that's good at one or the other, or a little of both, we should see some positive steps forward next year.
I think at this point this trade would make sense on the 15th of this month and then see if anyone wants CP3 for the playoffs or see what we can get for him in the off season. If you think Kuminga fits well at either forward spot.
Seems like they were giving him the option of an out or something, but he started and played through the injury for 36 minutes. Other then plus minus, his stats from the game were very underwhelming. While a great run/jump athlete, he continues to struggle with the basics and tries to do too much outside his skillset. If he'd focus on rebounding, defense, running the court/filling lanes and taking only clean looks instead of trying to take guys off the dribble for highlights I'm sure he'd have a much more significant role. Heck, I've heard Kerr say as much many times in Bay Area sportstalk interviews. The Pistons have of course been historically bad this season, but they've been much better lately since Duren came back. He's an even younger, bigger and more impressive run/jump athlete who actually knows his role and focuses on his strengths. STOMP
I can't see the attraction with Kuminga so I sure wouldn't give up Thybulle and a 1st for him just to note: Kuminga has a 6M salary and Portland has an 8.8M TPE (Dame), and an 8.3M TPE. So theoretically, the Blazers could send the Warriors pick for Kuminga in a legal trade the problem with that is a 2-phase problem: Portland is only 3.5M under the luxury tax so Kuminga would bump them 2.5M over the threshold; and the Vulcans are pinching pennies and making them scream the 'easy' solution to that is doing the trade, creating a a 6M TPE for GS. Then sending the Warriors Kris Murray for a far future top-55 protected 2nd round pick. That would get the Blazers back under the tax line. by the way, not only does Portland have those two 8+M TPE's, they also have a 1.6M TPE (Hart), and a 5.8M DPE (Williams). Also, they haven't used their MLE or BAE this season. Those exceptions could allow the Blazers some significant wheeling & dealing around the trade deadline but we know that tax is like Kryptonite to the Vulcans and they don't give a shit about the Blazers as a team, only as a cash cow
i wonder if Green will get as big of a cushion to yell and scream at the refs? The officials typically put his hollaring on mute, but since he's on punching people probation, will the refs give him T's like they would any other NBA player?
