How long of a leash should Chauncey have?

What should we do with Chauncey?

  1. Fire him - even young players deserve a good coach

  2. He should be on a short leash - if we look like we're not progressing, he should go in season

I said a great coach could have a 500 team with any NBA players...Stotts exceeded that with patched together NBA rosters ...179 different players. Chauncey will not develop a playoff roster unless they actually play in the playoffs. Dame lost with this coach and now he's gone. Go figure. As a lifelong fan, I'm really not happy with the lack of progress under Chauncey and I'm getting crankier in my old age.

Loved what Stotts did with our team. Always outperforming! BUT, he’s gone. Chauncy can’t develop a “playoff roster” until he is handed “playoff talent” FAMS!

You don't get playoff talent without being in the playoffs....ask Mo Harkless, Chief and Enes Kanter

Stop. You ain’t winning this one old man. Don’t care what coach it is…..if you don’t have the talent you ain’t winning games, that’s it. If you don’t have the fastest car in F1, you ain’t winning, that’s it.

so when are you going to inform these 15 guys that they don't have any talent? I didn't say they were championship contenders, I said good coaching would get them in the playoffs playing 500 ball. Don't get it twisted young whippersnapper!

They won't trade Ant anytime soon. I suspect Brogdon is gone by this trade deadline. I doubt Jerami will be traded soon either, because we don't really have a prospect to replace him with.

So this is what the team looks like after Chauncey's emergency practice? That was the worst we've played all year. I'm ready for Scotty Brooks.

I think, at a minimum he needs to get Simons engaged again. He seems to go full iso in one game and then the next he is told to be a distributor and so he does nothing on offense. He seems disengaged lately and it is carrying over to his already bad defense.

Ant's primary talent is shooting and shooters not only have off-nights, they can have off-nights for several games in a row before they get back in a groove. Ant's been better at distributing this season, but like CJ, most of Ant's passing are mostly safe passes on the perimeter. Those don't usually force a defense to adjust. And now, Scoot is back in the starting lineup shifting Ant back to SG, and putting Sharpe on the bench. win-lose-lose. Scoot actually tries to break down a defense by dibble-drives and passing off of penetration. He's not good at it yet but he's improving

I just don't see how Ant & Sharpe can co-exist long term as SG1 and SG2. And Portland is so bad that they shouldn't even try to differentiate between long-term and short-term.

I knew this team would lose but I expected to see improvement and instead they regressed. Not long ago people talked about Scoot and Shae as next Porter and Drexler, now they are considered more Steve Blake and Juan Dixon. Why isn't coaching making them better?

Chauncy isn't going to get that opportunity, IMO.

To answer the question in the title of the topic, I would say as long as possible to let him leave town. Until lately, I was in favor of letting him work quietly. That is not the case anymore.

The last few games have been inexcusable. Billups has lost this team, not that he ever really had them.

So why do they run the F1 races if it's completely about the fastest car?

    Dumb analogy.

I can handle losing close games and OT games but these blowouts and 4th qtr droughts are becoming the identity of the team. It's time for a new coach.

And the years Stotts wasn't given a playoff talent roster, they under performed. So weird, having a decent roster makes a difference.
