How long of a leash should Chauncey have?

What should we do with Chauncey?

  1. Fire him - even young players deserve a good coach

this team was playing hard to start the year. This team was advertised as a young hustle squad. They might not win, but they'll maximize their exciting athleticism and put on a show.

Why do opponents look like they have so many more superior athletes? Was it false advertising by the Front Office?

Blazer fans can accept beat downs if the team can't shoot, and makes a lot of "new team" mistakes. What's happening during this road trip is complete meltdown from lack of effort, and horribly designed offensive sets that breed easy easy transition baskets for opponents.

This team almost looks like they're being coached into failure. It might be a better option to get rid of all the Coaches, and let the players figure things out by themselves. They certainly wouldn't look any worse.

This is already a dead season so unless there is a candidate who is jobless you might as well wait unless keeping Billups will harm the growth of the players and not sure that can be argued at this point. I would not be against a Billups firing if they just handed the reigns to Scott Brooks and said we will see what happens with a new voice but not something that HAS to happen.

Brooks would probably be gone along with him and Herscu would take over the reigns

I'm not happy with Billups at all this season(or the previous ones), but I wouldn't fire him mid-season. I don't want chaos in Scoot's rookie year. Well, more chaos than this disaster of a season. Rather he hear a consistent voice his rookie year, and then we assess in the off season.

Okay but hear me out…Why not just speed track that and fire Chauncey immediately, make whoever replaces him in the interim the consistent voice he hears for the rest of his rookie year.

F1 tracks are different so in normal years, best car might be different between events.

Also, F1 is a development race, the cars change significantly during the year.

Last season McLaren started as the 9th or 10th fastest car, finished with the 2nd or 3rd fastest.

The beauty of F1 is that it's both an athletic and engineering sport

Because they likely don't keep the interim, so then it's 3 voices within his first year basically.

Solution: Scotty Brooks is the interim - not a new voice.

    Why? Was Brooks Chauncey's choice?

If Brooks isn't making a single change, then why fire Chauncey?

Who says he isn't? I mean, it's not like it's rare to promote an assistant after you fire the coach.

I guess I shouldn't have used voice, that's my bad. I don't want him to try to learn something new mid way through his rookie year where he has already struggled but has shown some growth, only to then go for something else new next year. Rather we take our lumps and dump Chauncey in the offseason.

Imagine your kid had a shitty teacher. Wouldn't you want him/her to change teachers IMMEDIATELY?

Mediocre analogy, and why I generally dislike when people try to come up with something that fits very specific situations.

We don't know how the coaching staff all works. Maybe Brooks is the offensive coordinator? Do we want to promote him to run his current system? DO we know if it's Chauncey's offense that he designed himself?

I get why people want him out now. Just my opinion that Scoot has shown growth, he has talent clearly. I think he can continue to improve with what we currently have, and then we look for something better in the offseason.

After watching the first 20 minutes of this debacle, I have changed my vote. I hate to say it, but Billups needs to go as he has clearly lost this team.

We should trade coaches with Detroit. I'm not joking, it makes total sense. If only you actually COULD trade coaches.

Look, this coming draft is so shitty that I don't even see the point of tanking. And I'm not even sure that just giving Scoot the ball and letting him play a ton of minutes and have us lose in blowouts again and again is even good for Scoot. You don't learn from your mistakes if there aren't consequences. And I kind of feel for Brogdon. Right now there's no way that Scoot deserves to start over Brogdon and it just sits wrong how he's being treated. Start the vets and try to win at least up till the trade deadline.
