yeah I don’t understand rebounding is simply the act of putting out effort

Which makes you wonder why they signed him to a $160 million deal.

The hunch might come from the fact that Joe bid against himself with Ant and basically did the same thing with Nurk. The fact is that it seems like he had a handshake deal to acquire Jerami from the Pistons in the first place. He obviously had a handshake deal with Ant because he didn't make Ant get a qualifying offer before signing him. Nurk also seems to have had a handshake deal.

Even the trade with Detroit for Grant seems to have been a handshake deal with the Pistons, followed by a handshake deal to extend Jerami. If you look at the pattern of re-signings @wizenheimer doesn't need to explain his hunch because it is based on a litany of events that have taken place since Cronin took over basketball operations.

I am not sure lazy is the right description. Mo Harless had slightly worse rebounding stats than Grant and he barely scored. Both are laid-back guys but I am not sure either is lazy.

We'll see if that price comes down at the deadline.

When we signed Grant's deal most people thought we'd have to pay to get him off the books. Now it looks like we're going to get more than one middling asset.

I'm generally still a fan of trading a guy a year too early than a year too late. I'd try to be moving Grant for a lottery pick or two shots at a lottery pick.

    Grant, Thybulle, Brogdon.

I think at least two of those guys will be moved this month.

I think moving Thybulle for max value won’t happen this year, with his no trade clause still being a thing.

One player I’d really like to buy low on is Wiggins, even though it’s an unpopular opinion.

First, I’ll acknowledge how bad Wiggins has been…worse than his Minny days. That’s really bad. Among all the worst Warriors lineups, he is in virtually all of them. His stready 17ppg on solid efficiency and great on ball defense was a cog in the Warriors system for three seasons—a guy who was once known for locking up and outplaying Jayson Tatum in an NBA Finals is now deemed unplayable.

His main issues have been strictly off the court. Apparently, it came out in April that his dad has been dealing with major health problems. I’d be willing to bet that most of his offseason was spent with his parents rather than working on his game. I wish there were more clarity on his father’s health, but I completely understand why not much has been divulged. Without knowing, there is a chance he’s simply just like acquiring Ben.

Now, here would be the reason to acquire him:

A lot of people here were talking about trading for Ben’s contract as recent as the beginning of the season and expecting 1sts back to take him. The time to do that would’ve been a season or two prior, not this season when there’s only one year after this one. With the Warriors, who are desperate to have one or two more playoff runs before Steph retires, we have the opportunity to actually milk them of something, because trading Wiggins would already be addition by subtraction.

A lot of people are going to think that trading Grant to Warriors is going to hurt the odds of our pick. After watching the Warriors this year more than I ever have, I’ve realized they REALLY struggle against size. Grant will not help with that. Dubs’ next three games are vs NO, @CHI, @mil, I think they lose two of those games.

So my question is, what would it take for you to warm up to a Wiggins for Grant swap? This is more for the people who were down for Ben. If you weren’t ever on board with Ben, I don’t think you’d be down for Wiggins.

For me, if they unprotected their ‘24 1st, offered a ‘26 top 4 protected 1st (top 1 in ‘27, unprotected in ‘28), the ‘29 unprotected 2nd, and Moody, I would take it.

We’re going to suck for the rest of the year anyway, I wouldn’t mind him just staying home. I know everyone here is interested in Kuminga, but I think Moody is going to be a more impactful player if Kuminga doesn’t actually become a star. The Dubs’ stockpile of assets will still be as barren as can be, but they’ll have a better shot maker in Grant and still be able to cling to the hope that Kuminga will become a star.

I am shocked at his listed weight. Doesn't he look bigger than 197?
By comparison, Ant is now listed at 193

4-pound difference between Wiggins and Simons?
