You guys are all overlooking that it helps with identification on the field..I mean I know they have names on the jerseys and most guys can just tell, but with all those guys moving around and big crowds of players it helps to identify the runningback from the other positional players.Bush wearing #5 wouldnt be a big deal because teams would just know that the RB on New Orleans isn't the traditional 20-40, but it would start a trend, and Reggie Bush isnt above the league either.
