Do me a favor don’t come on insulting me, no need for that just say you don’t agree. Hate when people think they have to insult people to get their point across.

that said attaching a draft pick to pick up and upgrade isn’t stupid. You aren’t going to have a ton of success without some older players our team can’t be a bunch of 19-20 year old kids.

Are you actually upset I said I’m glad you’re not the GM? If you are, I apologize, but a light-hearted dig about basketball takes on a basketball forum is hardly a malicious insult. I even mentioned coming back for more whoopins’ from the next dynasty team, I didn’t actually mean to imply or think you want that LOL. It’s just the reality if you’re going to truck along a bunch of vets with this core of young talent and expect to compete with OKC and Houston in a few years. It just won’t happen.

That being said, I had to re-read my post to see where I said attaching picks to pick up an upgrade is stupid, I said nothing of the sort. I don’t think saying that Cronin won’t attach any picks the next two years is implying anything about stupidity, it’s more of the reality. No one disagreed with you about needing older players for success. The problem is, you saw how much the vets helped today, lol.

Anyways, sorry again. I’ve literally seen plenty of people here say so much worse, but I’ll give that to you if you feel that way.

    1) I’m sorry you have covid

    2) no need to apologize. At the end of the day, it’s just basketball and shit talking. No one needs to take anything seriously here.

What in the world is wrong with the two of you? That exchange was supposed to lead to a flame war that would cause everyone to take sides on which of you is the bigger moron and end up with at least three people leaving the forum. But you two...want to act like adults and just let stuff go?

No kidding. I went off to make some popcorn so I could eat it while I watched the fight. Before I got back, they'd already made up. Talk about disappointing.

Anyone who would still roll the dice on Kuminga, I implore you to go through this thread. Just scroll down to the TLDR bit and some of the dubs fan comments. Concerns about Kuminga’s lack of awareness/IQ is very real. The athleticism is exciting for sure, but lockdown potential, I’m still very skeptical on, and looks like a lot of dubs fans are as well. One comment says “JK is sooo bad defensively”, another one replied saying “other teams see the deficiencies”. OP says “[JK] has been putting out awful tape recently. Not quite Poole tier, but getting closer.” Not totally sure I completely agree with that, but the comparison coming from a fan of his team is quite concerning.

I’m quite convinced that anyone who wishes we traded for Kuminga as the main piece of a Grant deal will turn on him quicker than they ever did on Ant. And that’s saying something.

OP also mentions Moody over-helping, which makes the POA breakowns worse. I’ve always liked Moody over Kuminga, but like Kuminga, I would not give up anything of value for him.

But lord, having that ‘24 1st unprotected and getting another 1st+ in return for Grant would be sooo sweet.

If he weren't flawed in some way, he wouldn't be available. That's the roll of the dice, in trading for draft picks and young players. It's exactly the type of move we should be making.

If we trade them Grant then conceivably the pick becomes crap. Grant will improve them.

Maybe a little, but not significantly.

Even on the Blazers, he's the 3-4th most impactful player. He can score, but he goes long stretch (relative to his role) where you don't even notice him on the court.

That’s fine. I’m not against bringing in Kuminga, it’s just everyone looking at him through rose-colored glasses that make it hard to actually have a genuine debate about him. There are more than a couple people I’ve seen across various forums saying they would take Kuminga for Grant straight up. I saw a comment saying “what do we need to attach to Grant? I would consider trading their pick back to them”. That’s when I’m not sure what I could even say, because this doesn’t seem like a productive convo to have with anyone.

Right now, Kuminga looks like a shorter Yves Missi, who might be a good shooter one day. I love Missi, but I wouldn’t take him with a lotto pick. Why exactly is Kuminga a better prospect than Ron Holland? Because he’s 2 inches taller so he’s more in a position of need? Holland is actually a ball handler. Of the two, unless Kuminga becomes a better player defensively and becomes a 38-40% shooter, Holland probably has a better career simply by being able to handle the ball and being able to get his own shot.

There will also be the bonus of getting out of Grant's contract. He's 29, doesn't fit the timeline, and now, he looks like he's checked out and only wants to score points and collect his check.

What did that have to do with anything I said? Moving his contract is not going to be a problem for us. If you’re saying the bonus of getting off Grant’s contract lies in obtaining Kuminga, zero picks, or even having to give them their pick back, again, not much I can accomplish getting into a debate with you lol.
