Yeah but he has a great car and from the game editing, maybe not the greatest vision? Like he said, he thought it was a squirrel? I kid I kid. I hope he doesn't get pissed at me!
NW Natural is sending emails requesting we conservative nature gas... Doesn't compute. We are drilling more than ever and burning off excess... How do we have a shortage? I'm getting sick of utilities... They seem to be getting less reliable and more expensive every year.
Lost our power about noon, still out. House is freezing. Telling us it will be back on by 5pm Monday! Have gas heat and oven. But our thermostat is electric. Used matches to fire up the stove to cook some dinner. Pretty nasty over here in NE Portland. Back and forth all day from fluffy snow to these frozen ice pllets. Not really hail, been weird.
If you have some hot plates or bricks, form a small circle with gaps in between and take a coffee can and put it on top of a lit candle in the center of the circle. Gaps need to be big enough for the candle to still breathe. It will heat up considerably and provide some warmth. take some blankets and pin them up on your entries to your living room and isolate yourself so the heat doesn’t leave the room.
This might have something to do with the e-mail. Major gas disruption in Washington State, https://www.yahoo.com/news/massive-gas-outage-threatens-millions-010755183.html
I'll be darned. Out here in the soulless suburbs we only have a light dusting of those frozen ice pellets...and electricity! Living in NEP must be like living in the olden days......next home upgrade, add a gas fireplace. It saves the day during times like these......
Man I love my woodstove....power went out at 9;30 last night and I enjoyed the light from my glass door wood stove with a guitar to pluck around on. Power came on around midnight but I don't mind when the world shuts down if I have power and firewood. Also got out the Coleman stove for cooking. Life is good.....21 degrees out and my driveway is solid ice packed snow. Good day to stay inside for sure. Stay warm and dry folks! My heart goes out to the homeless couple camping up the BLM land behind my property. They're in a nylon tent with no stove. Really glad I picked up another cord of oak a month ago ....I'm firewood rich this winter.
Over here they are requesting parts of town to conserve natural gas because they don't have the carrying capacity in place for the number of houses that have been built. They are upgrading but not all of Central Oregon is done. Could be a issue of the pipes not being big enough to carry the required amount of gas for your area? Just a issue we have in parts of central Oregon.
Poor planning. These are utilities. This shouldn't ever be a problem. They should have redundant systems to cover these situations. And they have to get permits to build out neighborhoods. Those permits should include covering upgrades to infrastructure, which should be completed well in advance of the homes.
