Can you provide a source on new york city spending that much on a "migrant crisis"? What factors does that consider?
If Biden wants to be re-elected, he better find a way to fix the huge immigrant problem he has created. The system is already over capacity to handle those already here. Cities are going to need financial help from the Feds and States to take care of them. We have a labor shortage in many sectors. However, even quality immigrants in their working prime, begging to be given a chance to work, are not able to find regular jobs, that need to be filled. Why? As ussual, the answer is starring everyone in the face. Yet Biden refuses to acknowledge the truth. Most of the jobs require a level of communication. Far too many of the immigrants do not speak English. So the pool of jobs they qualify for is very limited. Many of the cities and towns suffering the most under this burden, have been long time Dem strongholds. Biden has fucked up.
What Biden policy caused this problem? I'm no fan of Biden's, but I'm following how he caused an immigration problem. I'm not even sure there is an immigration problem. I've never seen a Mexican or Hispanic person of any kind on the corner begging for handouts... Last time I had a roof done a hispanic company came and did it in a single day for half the price everyone else was quoting and giving several days on their estimate... That's adding value to the economy. And not a single leak. The time before that I had one of the others do it and I had to remind them about some soft spots on the roof they'd already started papering over. And a I had to get up and fix around the chimney the first time it rained. I guess I could have waited for them to come out and fix it, but that was a lot of water coming through.
If Biden has a plan, that gets the immigrants off of social programs that are smothering cities and towns with unplanned for debt? And helping them become productive members of society? Please share the plan with me. I'm all ears.
If there’s that many they r invading. Just walking across the border is not the proper way to move to the us. What name r you going to call me this time. By the way I am very thick skinned so names and insults won’t ever work
I'm sorry, but I haven't the time to search around in an effort to validate extraordinary internet claims. I'd be interested in reading it if you could post a link, but not trying to find what you're referencing.
Did anyone from the roofing company speak English? How would anyone that does not speak English open a business in our country and service customers, if no one in their company spoke English? I have plenty of experience hiring Mexican workers. They are harder workers and have more common sense than the locals.
The guy who called me and offered to true up the trusses spoke fantastic English. I'm incredibly happy with every part of the service.
Invasion is what Russia did to Ukraine. Unemployment in US is at historic lows. Wages are rising. Those are conditions in which impoverished immigrants cross borders. Always has been, everywhere.

This short 2 minute report is worth watching. It tells the story of the problems a small town Colorado mayor is having while trying to help the immigrants. And also features an immigrant and the difficulty he is having finding work. This is happening in more cities accross the country. The problem is growing, with no fix in sight.
The Irish immigrants left a rural lifestyle in a nation lacking modern industry. Many immigrants found themselves unprepared for the industrialized, urban centers in the United States. Though these immigrants were not the poorest people in Ireland (the poorest were unable to raise the required sum for steerage passage on a ship to America), by American standards, they were destitute. They often had no money beyond the fare for their passage, and, thus, settled in the ports of their debarkation. In time, the sum total of Irish-Americans exceeded the entire population of Ireland. New York City boasted more Irishmen than Dublin, Ireland. The Irish established patterns that newcomers to the United States continue to follow today. Housing choices, occupations entered, financial support to families remaining in the homeland, and chain immigrations which brought additional relatives to America, are some of these patterns. Impoverished Irish immigrants often crowded into subdivided homes that were intended for single families, living in tiny, cramped spaces. Cellars, attics and make-do spaces in alleys became home. A lack of adequate sewage and running water in these places made cleanliness next to impossible. Disease of all kinds (including cholera, typhus, tuberculosis, and mental illness) resulted from these miserable living conditions. Irish immigrants sometimes faced hostility from other groups in the U.S., and were accused of spreading disease and blamed for the unsanitary conditions many lived in. ------------ barfo
Not sure what your point is? On average, the number of Irish immigrants per year was less than the number of Latino immigrants now coming in every day. Even the peak year of Irish immigration would equal less than the total Latinos coming in one week. Plus the dominate language of the Irish was English. Which made it easier for them to find jobs and blend into society. Not so for the Latino immigrants, most of whom do not speak English. Heck, some of them do not even want to learn English.
Let me make this very clear. I am not against Biden bringing in Latino immigrants. I am against how Biden is doing it. Biden's lack of a plan has totally fucked both the immigrants and the American people. What Biden has done is wrong!!!!! And it will cost him votes.
I mean, yeah... But this has always been a problem. Trump's solution was certainly no better. What politician has a plan you would support? And what are the points in their plan that you like?
