    Yes, I just meant how similar to saying you didn't know something was illegal isn't a viable defense, claiming you didn't know how old someone was isn't a viable defense as well.

    In some states that doesn't matter. I think that's what he was saying. She could lie and say she was older, but in the eyes of the law it makes no difference.

    I know that seems counter-intuitive, but that's the law. Easy entrapment with basically no legal recourse.
