    LOL:

The Mavericks have kept tabs on Jerami Grant in Portland, league sources told HoopsHype. Perhaps Kyle Kuzma could be added to this list in the coming weeks. Rival executives point to some combination of Josh Green, Jaden Hardy, Grant Williams, and draft compensation as Dallas’ best chance of making a trade for a frontcourt upgrade.”

    Josh Green - 6'5 SG
    Jalen Hardy - 6'4 SG
    Grant Williams - 6'6 PF

    yeah....nope

Maybe involve a third team with Dallas? Or get rid of Simons so we won't have so many guards....

I want zero parts of Dallas if OMax isn’t even available. Ridiculous.

Is he really that hot of a prospect? Or just young so everybody’s optimistic? I haven’t really seen him play. He seems similar to Rupert and Camara

    Good question.
Pretty sure his ceiling is a decent role player. Not sure why people like him so much

I don't think he's that hot of a prospect, but at least young with upside, which is more than can be said for the platter of crap listed.

Compared to Hardy and Green, the gamble on OMax would yield much higher results simply because of his size. Green is a good player but also 6’5.5 in shoes at best. OMax is about as raw as Rupert but has great size, and yes people are optimistic due to his age.

It may be posturing, but if people are expecting us to trade him for neutral value or a late first, I'd rather just keep him. So they can either come up with a good offer or fuck off.

It’s more a case of “Mavs don’t have intriguing young guys” than “we’re all in love with OMax”.

Dallas is a horrible trade partner for us. It would take multiple role players to match Grant's salary and none of them have ending contracts. (except the minimum guys)

Agreed unless they offer multiple picks, which they can’t (at the deadline). We could trade for their pick from NY and give it back to them for ‘25 and ‘27 to make it 2 picks, but Mavs Reddit says Mavs are more likely to make moves to maintain or further their flexibility. They also said they’d be upset if OMax was given up. All in all, sounds like they’d be unwilling to give us the pieces we want, which aren’t that intriguing in the first place.

    I don't think THJ + Omax + '26 pick is bad.

Hardaway probably could be flipped for a decent asset (Orlando for WCJ?)

Okay, am I in the minority that WCJ for Hardaway is an overpay? I’ve seen some THJ to the Magic mocks on Reddit where the return is the ‘25 1st or WCJ, so I guess opinions are split enough that it might make sense?

If Brogdon + THJ also turned into WCJ + filler + the DEN 1st, sure I guess I’d do it.

What does SAC have to offer? They have been in a funk of late and have to make a move it seems.

Barnes + Huerter + Mitchell + Protected 1st seems to be the offer.

I do think we could actually rehab Barnes and Huerter's value. We need shooting, especially at the wings. I'm curious if this team could look competent with an additional wing shooter (Barnes is shooting 40% and Huerter is 38% on his career). Of course you're also losing Grant's 40% shooting.

I dunno, if you could get Sac to give up an unprotected first in 2027-2029 I may consider it though. I think there's a good chance Sac end up sucking again later.

28’ and 30’ 1sts, Colby Jones would be the intriguing pieces.

Barnes would have to be in it for salary matching. We could probably get that second 1st rounder for taking on Huerter’s contract. He’s been a historically good shooter but is only 34.5% this year. I’d take it, $17m and 18m after this season, a little cheaper than Duncan Robinson. The moment Huerter shoots around 40% from 3 again, he’s instantly moveable, like Duncan Robinson is right now. There’s also Mitchell or Vezenkov as flyers, not really interested in either.

I would do Barnes + Huerter + Jones + top 10 protected 1st that becomes top 6 if not conveyed then top 3 after that.

Jones in place of a second 1st rounder would be fine with me.

There's no way you're getting a 1st to take Huerter. The contract isn't even bad, and I don't think they are trying to dump him anyways - they want to upgrade him.

Guess that’s fair and I didn’t fully think it through. But Kings fans are saying Huerter is something they think they have to give up assets for to dump. Saying “they want to upgrade him” is like saying “we’re not trying to dump Robinson, we’re trying to upgrade him…with Dame.” Lol

That’s basically what that contract is, slightly less than Robinson’s contract.
