You all know how accurate I was this offseason (LOL) but I think something happens before the deadline and fairly soon unless some weird scenario pops up
I really hope the something includes multiple players from this roster because once again this roster just doesn't make sense. If we're rebuilding remove the guys taking all of the reps and usage away from the guys that are hopefully our future and if we're not rebuilding... what in the actual fuck are we doing?
Jalen Smith is on the block for the Pacers. Would sure be nice to get him in some sort of multi team deal.
Right now the Blazers are trotting out a starting lineup of: Brogdon Simons Grant Walker Ayton The Blazers traded the franchise player so we could watch Malcolm Brogdon instead of Damian Lillard, and Deandre Ayton instead of Jusuf Nurkic. Sure, you could say a healthy Shaedon Sharpe in the backcourt would make things more palatable. However, we have a coach who started Anfernee Simons and Scoot Henderson in their first game in Los Angeles, which is the smallest backcourt possible, even though Sharpe and Brogdon were both available. I bet if we took a poll ( I think there was one?) that zero people would have started a backcourt of Simons and Scoot, if Brogdon and Sharpe were both healthy. Both the big picture and the small picture are a confusing mess.
hopefully grant & brogdon are gone, i want scoot & shae to get all the shots allong with ant, so we can accelerate their development and let them play through their mistakes some others (camara, rupert, murray, rw iii, reath) can be role players at best (and should be treated as such)
It's still amazing to me that Joe said the three guys we drafted were win now, not your regular rookies? I dont see them getting rid of either Brogdon or Grant. Ones is Joe's guy and the other Chauncey. Just my guess. I do think there is the possibility we trade Simons before the deadline.
Because he has value, and hasn't been converted yet, meaning they are exploring options with him. Much easier to deal him as a 2-way contract and the team that trades for him can convert. I am not saying I WANT to trade him.
The Blazers can't just keep trading everyone that has value. They have to actually build a team. Reath is someone with high output that you can keep around for cheap. No reason to trade him.
