I’m tired of being undersized at so many positions. One thing that made the late 90’s team great was that we were big at every position.
yeah...Damon/S. Smith/Pippen/Rasheed/Sabonis = 5'10/6'8/6'7/6'11/7'3. Had Brian Grant (6'9), Dale Davis (6'11), Bonzi (6'5), Stacy Augmon (6'8) coming off the bench at times as well
I love me some Jabari, but for whatever reason, right now he's hurting the team a lot more than he's helping: Maybe he's just not yet starter material? Trouble is, he's the only solid rebounder we have who can play the forward spot. Seems like that should be something we look to fix by the trade deadline.
He's not making his threes and maybe taking too many for a guy who doesn't anke them, and sometimes his lateral movement on defense seems slow. He'd be a great backup for Naz Reid!
He's not starter material. That's not the same as not having value to the Blazers or even to a hypothetical playoff team at some point. First, let's not forget he's 21 right now and will be through the end of this season. There are a lot of 21-year-olds in this league right now that came in with more acclaim that aren't doing what he is and still are considered good prospects. He's learning, and he's doing it playing with a bunch of guys who still are learning. He has more NBA experience than half the guys on our roster right now. It's a shooting-challenged team. IMO, Walker's a guy who can be a solid rotational role player on a winning team. He can't really define that role right now, which hurts him. The other thing that hurts him is he's taking too many 3-pointers early in the shot clock when that's not a part of his game that plays well at this point in his career. He doesn't make enough of those to be worth it and it takes him away from the basket which negates one of the best facets of his game.
