Why isn't there a down vote feature in this forum?

I agree. Your meltdowns would get a lot of them. :)

christ, those extra losses to get that extra 2.5% is most likely not making a difference in the long run

So you want to tank for four straight years? Brilliant strategy! Let’s keep losing so we can get another bust like Scoot Henderson next year. Brilliant!

And I believe trying to have a winning culture does make a difference in the long run. More reasons to be happy with these wins.

Is Cam Whitmore better then Amen Thompson? Seems like everyone wants the Rockets to trade one of their rookies. I think they're both really good, and Houston should keep them. The league goes through Small Forward droughts sometimes.

It might be a little unpopular to be unhappy after the reality of what a win for our team means in the long run sets in but this is the same team that has lost over 70% of their games and I don't think for a second that this roster was built to win.

Maybe this is easier to digest: I either want to watch my team in the playoffs or I want my team to have as close to the best chance possible at landing the first pick in the draft while developing their young talent. Why is that controversial? In fact I don't know why that's not universally what we want as a fanbase.

Because this draft is top end weak for one. For two this win or a few wins, as others pointed out, changes the percentage of a better pick in a minuscule scale.
you are acting as if we just gave up the first pick.

I think your reality of what it means differs from most. You are over analyzing a win in a weak draft. It’s not going to change our team. Let go. Enjoy the moment.

If you don't see tiers of talent in this draft then you haven't been doing any research on it. You're probably just hearing talking heads say that it's a weak draft and taking that to mean that there aren't quality players in it.

If there are any quality players in this draft (and there are) I want our front office to have the most options to select the best of those players for our team... or for us to make the playoffs. Which one seems more realistic?

That was a fun game to watch. Most everyone contributed. Loved the left-handed dunk by Simons. (Reath too)
Thybulle was all over the place getting steals. Ayton is a pretty good passer out of the post.

Why is intentionally losing games controversial? You really don’t know? You don’t have a clue?

I like seeing our team compete. In the moment I even like seeing them win. It's after the fact that I start getting caught up in the reality that we have no chance of making the playoffs, so the win actually hurts our chances of getting better in the future and getting back to the playoffs.

I hope our young talent could be more competitive than to lose by 60 every night but if that's what it took to have the best chance possible to build a title contender in a small market, I'd endure it more happily than rudderlessly winning even more than 30% of our games and picking in the middle of or late in the lotto instead of losing with a purpose of making sure we pick higher. I don't think we can possibly make the playoffs but if we play our cards wrong we could probably end up with a higher winning percentage than the Raptors and Wizards and maybe even the Nets and Warriors. Would that be fun?

Cam is certainly more confident than Amen. I don’t think anybody doubted Cam’s ability to score though, and he’s shown he can certainly put it up. A lot of it is his mentality. I think I read a couple reports that his attitude is why he hasn’t gotten more minutes despite producing like crazy in the limited time. Rockets fans definitely want him on the court more than Amen.

That being said, if Cam is the reason the Rockets are willing to give up Amen for win-now pieces, gotta snap him up for Brogdon.

I said early on, Cam reminded me of Corey Maggette. Haven't changed from that. But, can see why that will not always win him minutes.
I dont think anything he does is gonna have them move Thompson in year 1. Especially for Brogdon

    He'll get them eventually.

Lots of really good players didn't get crunch time minutes as a rookie. This isn't going to be a make or break season for Scoot.
