I give Scoot an offseason, or even two offseason's, but right now he looks like a damn bust. That's just my opinion

Please find me someone who had a 7.1 PER as a rookie who became an all-star or all-nba talent

    Not 15. Not 10.

    A 7 PER.

Since it’s not unprecedented, should be easy.

(So stop mentioning Russ, Nash and Kidd because 2, so far, Scoot hasn’t been as good as any of them and hasn’t even been close to as good as Russ or Kidd).

    Good luck champ.

Are you guys intentionally being dense?

The conversation is around how bad he has been THUS far.

Obviously not a lot of rookies are stars as soon as they’re drafted. But the ones who become stars, usually have a rookie season that is at least respectable.

Russ averaged 15/5/5 as a rookie At 20 years old
Kidd averaged 11/7/5 as a rookie at 21 years old

scoot is averaging 12/3/4 AFTER a horendous start. Likely to finish closer to 15/5/5 for the season. At 19 years old.
Yet I’m being called dense for asking the question I asked?
    Sigh…

Russ and Kidd both had a PER double that of Scoot (as of now).

So they aren’t even remotely close comparisons.

per is the only thing that matters? Not them having more experience via college and being older? Are you implying that thier per would have been the same no matter what age they entered the league? That there isn’t typically a lot of improvement in all players at that young of an age?

I can say one thing with certainty....right or wrong.....the comments here will have absolutely zero effect on what Henderson's career actually ends up being. So, are we trying to be......righter?

sure they had a better PER in their rookie season than scoot but when you factor in College career/games played/and age it kinda fuckin is.... but we just gonna ignore those facts in eh? thats coo... Ive seen enough flashes of scoot to not be worried about his overarching career. You can stress, bitch and moan about it all you want but he's not going anywhere for at least a couple years. Might as well enjoy the ride for what it is... a ride, ups and downs and everything else with a young PG trying to find his way.

It won't be fair at the end of the season but could we please at the very least wait until Scoot has the second half of his rookie season before we compare his advanced stats to the full rookie seasons of legends?

Again it will still be stupid because there are a lot of paths to success in this league but fuckin a... these arguments throwing out hall of famers' stats after like 80 games against Scoot's after 35 are preposterous. I know that some people have disclaimed in one way or another but it just doesn't make any sense to compare until the season is over. Mostly because even the greats that came out great still had an upswing from the beginning to the end of their rookie season. I mean everyone has a learning curve.

PER isn’t the only thing that matters.

And, I’ve been really consistent saying this - I’m not declaring anything definitive about Scoot for at least 2 years, maybe 3, for the reasons you state.

But there has definitely been players to come to the NBA of similar age to Scoot - including straight from HS.

People are acting like I said Scoot is a bust or some shit.

I said - in order for him to be an all-nba player or all-star player - he will have to make one of the largest leaps of all time. I don’t know why that is so controversial.

I didn’t even say it was doubtful or he couldn’t do it.

Find me a player that had a 7 PER that became an all-star or all-NBA player.

If you can’t find one… that kinda proves my point.

Same if you find a couple or even a handful.
