<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Eagles' McMullen traded to VikingsAssociated PressPHILADELPHIA -- Philadelphia traded wide receiver Billy McMullen to Minnesota for rookie free-agent receiver Hank Baskett on Thursday.A third-round draft pick in 2003, McMullen never really found a steady role in Philadelphia with 22 catches for 294 yards and one touchdown in three seasons. He'll be reunited with news Vikings coach and former Eagles offensive coordinator, Brad Childress, and quarterback Mike McMahon in Minnesota.Baskett, New Mexico's leading receiver in each of the last two seasons, had 67 receptions for 1,071 yards and nine touchdowns as a senior. The Vikings also released cornerback Laroni Gallishaw, who appeared in five games last year -- mostly on special teams.</div>Shows how little the Eagles think of McMullin
I posted this in the Vikings section too. Guess I didn't notice it hear.I hope Childress knows something about McMullen, cause I thought Backett was a solid rookie free agent signing for the Vikes.
I'll give Childress the benefit of the doubt that he coached McMullen in Philadephia and he should have an idea if the guy does have some potential or not, but hes done nothing in his NFL career to really justify his worth on the Eagles roster. My wonder though is with Philadephia having Reggie Brown, Pinkston, Greg Lewis and then drafted Jeremy Bloom and Avant it was unlikely McMullen would even make the roster anyways, and he could have had him later for nothing IMO.
Billy wasnt a good wide out to me anyways... I think Hank will get some PT this year if he does good and impress the coaching staff.
McMullen wasn't producing. He was a waste of a third round pick. He has great size and ability, but doesnt apply it. Good move by the Eagles.
