You responded directly to his tweet, and it's his style that makes it difficult to have a discussion in here? Because they thought you might be responding to what you responded to?? Yes, you admitted you were wrong, but you worded everything poorly and responded directly to things you didn't want to actually refer to, how is anyone else supposed to interpret that? And then you get all upset and up in arms at them and their posting style because of your mistakes?

 

You and him have a track record of dismissing much of posts and focusing only on what you want to point out as wrong. Often never also mentioning the parts agreed with. Second I don’t even see who posted the tweet. I saw the headline and read a bit and posted on the tweet. It was never intended to be directed at Phats.
Yes we can all improve communication. That includes not dismissing some things and nitpicking at others.
did he mention a thing about poor government decision making good or bad, which was the point of my post and what I ended with? No. Because he doesn’t want to let on that I might be right about anything at all.
And now you are doing some of the same.
Instead of saying, “yeah, you could have worded that better, but I agree the issues are being poorly handled”, you want to nitpick on me accidentally saying drug use and not drug possession.

These are communication styles that make it hard to give any respect to. They are annoying and do lead to me getting abrasive because it’s frustrating.

I don’t know of anyone who words everything perfectly all the time, but I sure know some who act as if they do and they know everything and everyone who ever disagrees is wrong.

Measure 110 did not make anything legal. It has also shown to have no negative impact on overdose rates.

So now it's not enough that police can actually arrest people for public drug use (if they actually chose to do their jobs), but you want them to be able to go back to harassing the poor and minorities because they "suspect" they may have small amounts of drugs in their possession?

That plays right into the fascist lies that have been spread by police.

The fact that police have lost that ability and incentive to harass people is part of what is great about measure 110. The other part is that more people are given the access to treatment, and the measure funds said treatment using taxes collected from the sale of controlled substances.

Those are all good things. If a law from 1971 needs to be adjusted so it is more clear that public use of controlled substances is illegal then so be it.

As long as police have evidence of said public use I'm fine with them arresting people for it.

If you see someone using in public get a video and send it to police. They'll have all the evidence they need to remove that person from that place and take them to a shelter as well as fine them, if nothing else.

They are being paid. They should do their jobs.

@SlyPokerDog would you kindly show this guy how to use the ignore button so he isn’t continuously trying to create drama amidst the middle of other peoples’ conversations? He is back at chasing me around the forum inserting his bs anytime he sees me disagreeing about anything with anyone. There is an ignore function he can easily use but instead continues to try to egg me on, creating drama. Which I know first hand you frown upon. I’m not seeking him out and barely acknowledge him and his games. But he is trying to make more drama than there currently is without adding anything positive, constructive or relevance to the conversation.
Anyone who reads up on this forum knows that Phats and I often go back and forth mostly in a respectable manner, but are capable of moving on and not holding grudges. Unfortunately this guy seems obsessed with me.

lack of excess drug overdoses does not mean there isn’t an increase of drug use. Drug use has a different definition than drug overdoses.

Hyperbole? How else would making possession a more serious crime do anything? Police would have to search people to find it. I'm not interested in a bunch of jackboots patting people down in public trying to stick them with a possession charge. Even if they wouldn't target me.
