There were no charges because apparently she posted pictures of herself in an 18 and older club. So she was passing herself off as older and may have had fake ID to get into such clubs. Giddey may not have even known her true age, but at the very least she was misrepresenting her age.

That isn't entirely true though. This kid Sarr and the other kid Risacher (both international France) are growing in popularity. Problem is Portlend would need to get lucky and get a #1 or #2 pick. They won't be there at 5-7. Make this trade deadline kind of interesting to watch. Now there are comments about holding fast but both Brogdon and Grant just sat out.
The next few days will say quite a bit about what Portland is trying to do.

God this franchise is fucking idiotic. Let's emulate a team that maybe is going to finish .500 as the 11th seed.

Get rid of these clowns now. Directionless pieces of shit.

If they stand pat thinking we have what we need to contend in the future, yes. Absolutely.

We 100% do not have enough talent, or the right mix of talent.

Houston is a neither a contender now nor in the future. That is the model?

Did someone tell "Jake Fischer" that? Most comments like that are pulled out of someone's ass.

Jake is very plugged in. He hears things from multiple GMs/front office folks and is usually very spot on because he filters bullshit before putting it out there. I've interacted with him in the past and found him genuine.

I'm just wondering what it is we are doing. If we want mediocrity so bad, why did we trade Josh Hart for a pick that became Kris Murray? We sit 10 games behind a play-in spot as is. Even with all our veterans, this is a 25-30 win team at best. Why all the commentary about patience and a teardown, when we won't actually stick to that plan?

    ugh

I honestly don't care what they do. Just stick to a fucking plan. So tired of this bullshit of making contradictory moves at every setting.

I wonder if the Sixers are more motivated to trade for another scorer (Jerami) to help them stay afloat as Embiid recovers...

You do realize that a random podcast quote from Jake Fischer doesn’t qualify as an official statement on the direction the Blazers are choosing to go, right?

    1. jake doesn't usually throw stuff around unless he has some sorta indication that it's true.

    2. this sorta mentality is shockingly emblematic of the team's actions since Joe took over, so i tend to believe it more than dismiss it.

We'll see over the next three days. I think there are way too many media reports about this stance that we're not going to trade anyone. It seems like our front office is getting that out to every reporter they can. I guess more so the message is that a team would have to blow us away with their offer. If at the same time Joe is taking offers but telling teams it will take a lot because we really want to keep Jerami and Malcolm then this could all just be trying to squeeze everything we can out of these two.

If we hold onto either of Jerami or Malcolm then we are seriously directionless and this season is absolutely pointless. If we do trade them then Joe is doing a great job of posturing. You tend to believe it more than dismiss it and I just have no idea, it's like a coin flip for me right now.

I've been saying it for years: the Blazers are addicted to straddling fences; they hedge their bets instead of doubling down. I think this has been true under Paul Allen since the Whitsitt days. And it sure appears to be true under Jody & the Vulcans.

letting-cakes-bake and needle-moving have been more than just simple-minded PR catch phrases...they have been the operating procedure. It's non-standard OP and it's doomed to fail, IMO. This is why they could never go all in on building a contender around Dame; it's why letting the Aldridge/Dame team crumble seemed normal; it's why overpaying for Turner and Crabbe and Meyers looked like good ideas; why paying two 1st's for RoCo looked smart, to them; why they were delusional for years about CJ being a worthy option 1b; it's why they yakkity-yak about re-tools instead of rebuilds which in turn is why they likely won't go all-in on a rebuild now believing the Ant/Grant combo can lead them to the promised land.

but then, the promised land for the Vulcans is just perpetually selling tickets and keeping the cash flowing so they may already be in paradise

notice: if they make major moves in the next 48 hours disregard this rant

Shit, this is depressing and makes sense but I'm really hoping your very realistic and fact based opinion ends up being wrong in this situation.

I miss Trader Bob. He was the only son of a bitch who was crazy enough to get us within a sliver of going to the finals. He might have tweaked a little too much at times but I would prefer that to the alternative. He also built the Sonics.

Trade deadlines and draft time are some of the most fun times of the year for me, but I think the DL this year will be disappointing, in terms of shaking things up, all around the league.
