This question drives me nuts. It's the most preposterous defense for Joe's blatant inactivity during his tenure. None of us are in NBA front offices so we obviously don't know but what we do know is that Joe made moves that looked like a rebuild when he said he was trying to build a contender around Dame and now he's holding onto players who could help teams contend when he's telling us we're rebuilding. Give me a fucking break with the "what moves do you know he could have made" because I don't know, I just want the moves he does or doesn't make to follow the fucking narrative that he is telling us.

Tell me when that has happened? When has Joe told us the direction of the team and then made moves that seemed to help us build in that direction?

I'm still curious about the thought process by a lot of people posting what you are. Is there any reasonable explanation to Brogdon having MORE value this summer, while being only a year from free agency? What team will give up anything more for him then, with the threat of him walking? We had a very finite window to maximize his value.

And we chose to kick the can down the road (aka pulling a Joe (TM)).

And let's be clear so this doesn't get lost in the weeds. This past summer, Brogdon was traded to the Clippers for a first before he got red flagged in a physical. That was his baseline value.

My issue is not as much the moves or lack of moves it's the fact it seems like we do not have a direction cause we will not sit Brogs to give Scoot the time he needs cause I think they believe this team MIGHT be able to win with Brogs at the helm ? If this is a rebuild then lean into that and fucking rebuild and trade the vets like Brogs etc but if this is a re-tool then trade the younger player not named Scoot , Sharpe for proven vets to try and win but we are doing neither at this point. All I want and I am guessing what other fans want is a direction and a plan to get that done instead of this cluster fuck of moves / non -moves that happens.

Why is this surprising? The guy learned from two of the premiere cake bakers in NBA front office history in Pritchard and Olshey.

I wish new ownership close. Joe is a figure head only to Bert/Jody/Vulcans.

This was supposed to be a sellers market but it sure didn’t seem to turn out that way.

This answer drives me nuts. NONE of us are in the front office to know what was offfered and turned down, yet some act as though they know FOR SURE a decent offer was out there and Joe just MUST have passed on it for baffling reasons.

Do you not see the hypocrisy in your own post? Come on man.

Didn't say moves someone knows, but what trades that happened, should he have done some kind of counter offer?

WHO was traded that he should've traded for?

It's not like they missed out on Aaron Gordon or something.

    Not when keeping the vet:

    1. He plays 15-20 minutes more than Scoot.
    2. He gets paid 23 mil.
    3. His value will only get lower from today when he has one year less remaining on his contract.

    you don't know that

Sure seems to me, after watching NBA trading for 50 years that better trade packages are secured at the trade deadline than during the off-season; especially in terms of draft assets. But maybe my recollection is blurred

but I'm definitely disputing the assertion that 31 year old, often-injured Brogdon, with 2 seasons left on his contract, will have less value than 31-year-old-will-turn-32-twenty-games-into-the-season often-injured Brogdon with an expiring contract.

That would be a *massive* overpay to Thanasis.

Almost every trade was a minor trade. There's no evidence that they could've made a trade of Malcolm or Simons, that A: makes any sense whatsoever no matter WHO the GM is or B: had any legs.

Yes, I understand that that excuse can be trotted out any time a GM doesn't make a trade or sign a free agent. It doesn't work for sales people who don't make their quotas, and it doesn't work here. It is his job to find the right tango partner.

I have made myself pretty clear on why i do not like Cronin now I would LOVE for one of the Cronin lovers to give me a few good reasons why he is doing a good job and the direction he is leading this team into is a good direction. The problem is I do not think you can instead these type of fans buy everything that come out of his mouth as the gospel truth and eat it and praise the ground he walks on. I really hope I am wrong about Cronin and I am eating humble pie in a couple years but my gut tells me we will be spinning our wheels and still hip deep in shit of a rebuild that is doing little to nothing.

lol it literally is his job to do it. so tired of this excuse. the same thing we hear every year, be it with draft picks, or ant, or dame, or brogdon. i'm convinced the dude doesn't have outgoing calls on his phone.

Apples to oranges. Sales quotas for employers of products how how large of a market? 10 million buyers? 100 million buyers? Joe has 29?
