<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Update: Coach Herm Edwards said Saturday he would like to run the ball more in 2006 than the Chiefs did in 2005, the team's official site reports. Recommendation: Edwards pointed out the Chiefs' passing game accounted for about 523 passes compared to 505 rushing attempts last season. While the offense was prolific, a part he doesn't want to change in 2006, Edwards would like to see more commitment to staying with the running game when playing with a lead. "I anticipate if we're playing with a lead, we're going to run the ball more than we did last year and not worry about continuing to try and get a 17 point lead," Edwards told the team's official site. Potential Johnson owners must love the sound of this change of philosophy. More carries is never a bad thing for an elite running back.</div> http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=roto...owire&type=lgnsI agree, he should get more carries but I don't want to wear him down. Good move, i can easily see LJ getting over 1900 yards or more if they're having success in the running game

Herm would have to be an idiot NOT to want to give LJ more carries, he didn't even start all the games last season and look what he did.

I was reading in ESPN the mag that they think he can break Eric Dickerson's all-time record if he plays like he did last season. I wouldn't go that far, but he might be able to break 2,000.

Dickerson's Record is 2,105 yards. LJ averaged 5.2 ypc last season and his ypc gets better each year. If LJ gets 400 carries with a 5.2 ypc average, he will get 2080 yards. Supposing his average gets better, he could break the record. If he gets more carries and his average goes down, he could still break the record.Basically if he stays on pace with his past, he is GOING to break it.

It might have something to do with the Chiefs line, but IMO, Larry Johnson is the best back in the league. I think he will get 2000. Maybe 2200.

Not to mention Waters, Wiegmann and Welbourn are pretty damn good too. Alot of his long rushes from last year are due to the 3 players I listed above. Now Larry Johnson is a pretty good runningback, but lets not give him way too much credit for his stats like everybody did to Priest Holmes.

He had the best season last year, but I still don't want to say he is the best yet.
