Forgot which article but a trade grade gave us a D for not trading Grant or Brogdon in our rebuild.

We need Veteran leadership for our youngins to grow and be taught. I am good with building around Grant. He is underrated in my book.

    Underrated does not equal superstar.

While Grant is not a superstar, he is good. He's the same kind of "borderline all star" that C.J. McCollum was ... which means he's not an all star.
However, as he is 29 (and 30 in a month), the chances of him being a pillar for a contending team when Scoot and Sharpe are ready to contend (hopefully in 3-4 years) is ... not good.
He's would be best on a team that wants to take that next step. Keeping Grant to season the youth and to take pressure off them as they grow is arguable, I suppose.
This year, I mean. His trade value is unlikely to get higher than this summer.

If Ant is traded this summer to avoid a small back court AGAIN, and again ... then keeping Brogdon for both guard spots off the bench is fine.
Otherwise, this summer would be his summer to join a contending team and return what is possible for the Blazers.

I equate Jerami Grant to CJ.... he's one of those borderline guys who would probably make an All-Star game if we were a top 3 seed.

they all gave Portland a D at the trade deadline. Cronin is hoarding his good players & picks, and won't share with the rest of the league.

I don't know why, but Grant never feels like a real "Blazer" to me. He seems like an expensive rental. Dame of course was a Blazer. CJ too. But, at least to me, Jeremy Grant just seems like a fill-in at PF for awhile until he goes somewhere else.

Odd... unlike Dame and CJ, Jerami was born in Portland. We're all entitled to our feelings, but there is only one correct spelling of his name

Grant was a steal given he was a second round pick at #39 when he was drafted. He's a star but in a quiet way...he's not a brand building star like Dame or Lebron but he's definitely a franchise core player who just doesn't carry himself like an alpha sports figure.
