Reasonable people can disagree, but I do not think an American president can control what is going on in Israel at the moment. Israel is run by the most hardline extremists they've ever had running their country, and there's massive support within Israel to continue the war. This is not like past situations. I am fairly confident Israel would continue to do what they're doing regardless of what Biden or any other American president tells them. They're on a rampage to compensate for their massive military and intelligence failures of October 7th, and Bibi is reacting the way he is because he has virtually no choice. He has to remain in power to prevent getting charged for corruption (sound familiar?) and in order to stay in power he has to demonstrate being strong against Hamas. That said, I agree Biden needs to stand more firm against Israel and set some pretty clear red lines, and IMO there HAS to be a two state solution to the whole situation. This has to be made clear, and that there is no other outcome that will be agreed to by the US if they want our support. I also agree with Gavin Newsom, I think at this moment he would be the best choice and a better option than say Gretchen Whitmer.
Yup. 70 is so far removed from what everyone else is going through on a day to day with technology and jobs, etc.
He's right about where Trump is to me. Though, I don't think he'd actively try to end democracy. I know Trump would, if given the chance.
I think apathy has set in. Trump is getting a record high of black and Latinos. I'm not sure I buy it but we'll see.
American tax payers are literally funding a genocide. If Joe pulled their funding, that would be a step in the right direction. But he's already admitted that he's a Zionist so that ain't gonna happen.
I personally have long questioned the wisdom of supporting Israel for quite a while. At least with such limitless bounds to our support, it hurts our national interests IMO. Unfortunately there's extremely strong support for Israel in the US for a variety of reasons, and historically with older Democrats, and of course virtually all Republicans, Israel continues to garner strong support. This may finally be what changes that blind support we've given them though, as their response to October 7th has been absolutely barbaric.
I didn't find Jon to be funny at all in this clip. He is starting out doing exactly what every other late night show is doing. Being overly one-sided in their politics. I want to laugh at late night shows, not spend time listening to them crap all over one party while giving their party a complete pass. It is time for late night shows to stop being propaganda tools for their party.
America isn't a democracy. Both parties usurped our democracy decades ago. Anyone who believes we live in a democracy is simply fooling themselves.
In the exact same way they all do, soft on Biden and democrats. So they do pass on their party, in their own way...
Alot of people here are simply not willing to accept how bad another term of a Biden presidency looks to the most baseline voters who don’t indulge in politics. Wars and conflict and personal financial hardships are the basics people are affected by. These areas look worse than they have in a long time. We can bicker about which side is to blame and probably all make valid points here and there. But the average low info voters are just looking around at the poor state of things, then looking at who’s sitting in office and deducing a very simple equation. I don’t understand how the Democrats can actually run Biden as a candidate with a straight face. It’s getting so bad to watch. Surely someone else will have to step in or this thing is over.
This is laughably short sighted. One side is significantly, and massively, worse than the other. This isn't a case of "both sides suck".
Trust me, I know one side is far worse, I'm just saying he wasn't easy on either side. He made fun of both. He didn't hold back.
