Today Ukraine brought down the 7th russian jet plane in the last 4 days. Also in the last two days they have hit with HIMARs three clusters of russian soldiers far from the front killing a total of 120 and wounding many more. A famous and popular russian blogger/soldier shot himself after heavy criticism for publishing that russia lost 16000 soldiers in it's Avdiivka assault after Shoigu said losses were very small.

I'm really not all that all invested in the issue like you are. I don't think we should be sinking billions of tax payer funds into another foreign conflict. But I did find this - https://www.nbcnews.com/think/opini...-putin-s-denazification-claim-war-ncna1290946

I'm posting a mainstream news source knowing full well it could be BS. Again, the conflict is one of the last things on my mind. I totally understand how you may feel different however.

That story is mostly about old history. He can't cite one incident in the last ten years where a Ukrainian soldier insulted or assaulted a Jewish person and that's because i don't think it has happened.

This war has exposed the capabilities and secrets of the weapons for all sides. I want to compare some, starting with air defense systems.

While the US Patriot system is not perfect, it is performing as advertised, or slightly better.

The most feared air defense system has been Russias S300 and S400 units. Both have greatly underperformed as advertised. So poorly, they are next to being jokes.

The Russians greatly exaggerate the capabilities of their weapons. While the western countries under report the capabilities of their weapons. The same can be said for most weapons,

Example, comparing armoured fighting vehicles. The Bradly is way outperforming Russias versions

If the west continues to supply Ukraine with modern weapons in the quantities they need. I do not see any way Russia can take Ukraine.

Russia simply cannot take and hold a country the size of Ukraine as long as Ukraine is willing to fight.

The numbers simply don't work. Russia cannot field a large enough army to occupy Ukraine unless Ukraine gives up. Even without weapons from the west.

Weapons from the west do make it less likely that Ukraine will give up though.

Flares may confuse heat seeking missiles. However, do nothing to distract radar seeking missiles. The aircraft shot down has a very strong radar on board. Also, there are missiles with built-in radar systems programed to follow the target aircraft, ignoring flares.

Based on so many Russian aircraft shot down this week, and at longer ranges. Ukraine must have a new to them type of anti-aircraft missile. But I have no clue what it is, or, who gave it to Ukraine.

What's new? They won't let Navalny's mother take her son's body for burial either.

Ukraine not finished today. Besides this one and the big A-50, there are also reports of a fighter-bomber being downed.

    It is possible.
I had 2 theories, but this was not one of them.

The S200 is an older system. Reports state Russia retired the S200 in 2013.

Not many countries had the S200. I believe all of them retired it for newer missiles.

I looked at the short list of the countries that have had this missile, and 3 stood out. Ukraine, Poland, and Germany. It is possible some country had some old missiles. If it was Ukraine, why did they wait so long to use them?

But my gut tells me, this is a smoke screen. Not sure missiles that old can hit so many newer aircraft, at the missiles max range. This looks like newer technology at work. Not sure what to believe now.

I am going to keep this short, and very vague.

The Russian A50 was shot down at near twice the range of the S200, and over Russian land, which creates political issues.

To cover this distance mistake, and political issues, new reports claim the S200 was modified and upgraded. Without going into detail, I call BS.

The short answer to who I suspect is behind supplying Ukraine with a new anti-aircraft missile is the CIA.

The CIA can get around the Republican funding blockade, and creates enough of a smoke screen to create plausable deniability for Biden over the aircraft shot down within Russia.

I am fine with anyone that believes this is the biggest pile of BS on record. But it is my best guess right now.

Makes total sense. And the timing seems right for the US to be ramping up support, too.

President Biden personally met with Navalny's widow and daughter to express condolences. Trump said it's about how persecuted he is.

    Yep, no difference.

Is it me or does Jeremy Renner look like Zelenskyy? If a movie is made about him, Jeremy should play the part.
