Not even close. But don't let facts get in the way of a good story.

Are you saying that I made shit up?
He is saying children with measles need not quarantine.
    He opposes vaccines.
    In your article.

“The letter notes that when a school has a measles outbreak, it is “normally recommended” that unvaccinated students who haven’t previously had the disease be kept home for three weeks “because of the high likelihood” they will be infected.
But the letter then says the state won’t turn that recommendation into a mandate, at least for now.”

They are being recommended or advised to stay at home. It’s just not a mandate, at least for now.

Spokesperson John Sullivan would not say if the six ill children are unvaccinated, citing privacy concerns.”

This says it's unknown to the public if they are vaccinated or not and even if they aren't, it doesn't state the parents are antivaxers.

Sly posted the article. Not Platy.

It seems that the majority of your original post is inaccurate. Portions of the second as well.

I cannot believe that people would not vaccinate their kids for measles. Its proved to be be very effective and has saved many lives. Crazy

I apologize for naming wrong poster.

Yes, it is generally recommended to quarantine people with measles. Like by every public health and pediatric organization.
Quarantine is inconvenient. The quack is saying if it's too much trouble then send kids to school. No reputable person let alone doctor should say that.
The school due to privacy won't release medical information about an individual. That is correct. But simple fact, the measles vaccine is extremely effective. The likelihood that six vaccinated people in a community would all get measles is astronomically unlikely.
What I said is consistent with the article and factual.

Nothing in the article has the "quack" saying anything about allowing sick children to go to school. The article says that he is--against federal guidelines--allowing healthy, unvaccinated children attend school rather than stay home for 3 weeks.

Your post is indisputably factually inaccurate.

I disagree with the Florida Surgeon General as well, but I'd rather disagree with something he actually said (probably also without insulting him, but that's just personal preference).

Just to confirm, You think these two things below are the same and consistent in definition?

“The letter notes that when a school has a measles outbreak, it is “normally recommended” that unvaccinated students who haven’t previously had the disease be kept home for three weeks “because of the high likelihood” they will be infected.
But the letter then says the state won’t turn that recommendation into a mandate, at least for now.”

You think that recommending they stay home, but parents to make the decision, is the same as saying they should not quarantine?

I'm pretty sure that is not the same thing, and the claim they were told they should not quarantine, is false and misinformation. Debunking your statement I quoted above that what you said is consistent with the article and factual.

I vehemently disagree with what you claim is factual and consistent with the article. Please don't mix this up with a defense of the surgeon general, as I think they should quarantine as well, but merely pointing out your claim is inaccurate on multiple levels, based on the article posted vs what you posted.
I never read anywhere, after searching out other sources as well, that the surgeon general ever said they should not quarantine, as you claimed and then asserted was consistent and factual.

All good. Like I've never made a mistake? :)

Florida's surgeon general who was infamously against covid vaccines, refuses to follow CDC guidelines, which state that it should be mandatory that unvaccinated students stay home for three weeks in the event of a measles outbreak.

While the state is not required to follow said guidelines, it is highly irresponsible and dangerous during a measles outbreak to leave this decision up to parents, which the surgeon general has decided to do.

The measles is even more infectious than the chickenpox, and can cause dangerous complications. An outbreak should be taken seriously. The article states that Florida doctors are against this, (though I'm sure you could find a few that would say otherwise) and cites one doctor who I agree with. To contain an outbreak you don't just allow everything to go on as usual. You quarantine sick and unvaccinated individuals to quell the spread. If you are vaccinated you are very unlikely to get the measles.

I get that keeping a child home for several weeks does create a bit of a burden on families with work and everything, but unvaccinated kids are going to get sick and have to stay home weeks anyway. Why not keep them home healthy rather than to force them to get sick first. That makes no sense.

Oregon law requires that all children attending K-12 to be vaccinated. Parents can put in a claim with the state for an exemption, either medical (there is some reason such as a medical condition in which a child cannot receive a vaccine because it could interact with their condition and cause harm) or non medical (religion etc.) Either a current list of vaccinations or an approved exemption must be on file for a student to attend.

This extreme court wants to erase all gains of 20th and 21st century. Don't be surprised if they side with billionaires against unions.

I would find that hard to believe, as the previous post was responded to. But then there are also others posting about this.

Anyhow.. it is what it is... I just find it comical...
