Don't put it on me. I don't have to play the game if I don't want to. The biggest voter block in America is the non-voter. It's not on them that Trump won in 16, it's on the Democratic party for running a shitty candidate in Hillary Clinton. If you want our vote, earn it. Otherwise, it ain't on me. I can understand the "vote blue no matter who" nonsense that we keep hearing but that's also why the party doesn't feel compelled to put forth a better agenda. If they lose to Trump again, instead of you normies getting upset with the non-voter, you should get upset with the party and you should get your pitchforks out. Why in the world should the Democratic party (or any party) cater to people who don't vote? You might think you are sending a message, but the only message they receive is "ignore me, I don't matter". No one cares about the preferences of non-voters. If you want to change the party, there are only two ways to do it. One, vote in primaries for the candidate that best fits your views; and/or two, get involved in the party itself. If you don't want to participate, that's your right. But I'm pretty certain your absence will have the opposite effect as what you'd like. Candidates vie for the attention of actual, reliable voters. If the actual voters start to trend to the right because lefties don't vote, the politicians will move to the right to make up for it. barfo
That's one thing I never understood. That and why it is Democrats have to appeal to independent and conservative voters, but the GOP never has to appeal to progressive or independent voters.
