How many games has he played since he was 16 years old? Did you find THAT in all your research? He's played like 60 since HS..... bring back this research when he's 22.
Scoot played 19 games in G-league regular season; 17 games in the Showcase Cup; and 10 games in the exhibition season. He averaged 31 minutes in the regular season; 26 minutes in the Showcase; and 31.5 minutes in exhibition. That appears to be 46 games where he averaged 29 minutes. I say appears because I'm not sure if regular season games are separate from Showcase games, but I believe they are if Scoot had 46 games of G-league experience when he averaged 29 minutes a game, 1340 minutes total, that's more playing time than any one-and-done college player will get https://www.basketball-reference.com/gleague/players/h/hendesc01d.html
As a 20 year old rookie with no college Brandon Jennings had games of 32 points 9 assists 55 points 5 assists 35 points 8 assists Along with a bunch of other games in the 20s. I guess you could say he was decent. I'm certainly hoping for a lot more from Scoot than Brandon Jennings though. A rookie season doesn't make a career. He's not good yet though. His efficiency is atrocious for a high pick rookie. This offseason will be huge.
Brother you are counting exhibition games now? I've been to showcase cup games and they are on the level of Vegas summer league action. Just let it go. Kid played 19 semipro games before joining the NBA. Give him a few years please. You're trying too hard bro. Exhibition games....ha!
I'm not one of the Scoot-haters here. But I do have doubts about his upside and anybody that doesn't hasn't been paying attention the value of G-league games over college games is a legitimate debate. But again, Scoot played 46 games on a g-league floor against g-league players, and he averaged 29 minutes a game. That's a lot of development time. and by the way, it was Scoot's decision to go g-league instead of college. He could have tried college ball for a year but his flaws may have been exposed
that's fine...but looking at his numbers as a rookie isn't judging him as a 4 year veteran 3 years from now
His stats are undeniably horrible across the board. A few games where he got 20 points on 20 shots doesn’t really help your point. As of right now I don’t see him lasting the nba. I actually the odds point in that direction.
The 10 assists is the far more impressive stat. Especially with this team. He needs to improve. All rookies do. And he will. But he is clearly a decent player, IMO.
Scoot fishhooked Landale, knocked Jalen Green down with a clothesline, and stiff armed 5 straight Rockets. is Scoot ready for the NBA ? Maybe the question should be .... Is the NBA ready for Scoot ??
There are those who wait for the prize to fall out of the box of cereal/cracker jax as it would naturally. There are those who rip the top off the box and dig for it with their first serving. There are those who point at the box and declare before even purchasing.
