He's gonna have to do more than that, he should be making the minicamps hard for him in the first place so he can adjust to the higher-paced NFL gameplay.

The complaint, according to Columbus police officers, was made by Lashae Boone, mother of Holmes' youngest child. Boone told the police she was choked, thrown to the ground, grabbed by the arms and thrown into a door by Holmes. No hospital visit was needed to treat Boone's alleged injuries. Holmes was released on $3,500 recognizance bond and now awaits a trail date.</div>http://www.kffl.com/hotw/nflWife beater?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Steelers | Holmes could be in trouble with the NFLTue, 20 Jun 2006 21:35:03 -0700Mike Prisuta, of the Tribune-Review, reports Pittsburgh Steelers rookie WR Santonio Holmes may be in violation of NFL policy, which could impact the outset of his career with the Steelers, including his impending contract negotiations with the team. Holmes' arrest early Monday morning, June 19, in Columbus, Ohio, demands a league review, which could result in a disciplinary response under the NFL's personal conduct policy. "It's a zero-tolerance policy," Pittsburgh-based agent Ralph Cindrich said Tuesday, June 20. According to the NFL's Personal Conduct Policy, "engaging in violent and/or criminal activity is unacceptable." Unsigned rookies such as Holmes are considered covered by the policy once they're drafted. Holmes' agent, Joel Segal, declined comment Tuesday. Steelers' management also declined comment. The severity of any discipline handed out by the NFL would depend upon how violent it estimates Holmes to have been, Cindrich said.</div>http://www.kffl.com/hotw/nfl

Yep, not off to a good start AT ALL for Santonio Holmes. I wonder what's going through his head...?

I was reading letters to the editor in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette this morning and most of them were expressing their dissappointment in Holmes. People here are pretty mad but that might change with 100 rec. yards and a TD or two in the opener.

I'd be disappointed as well if I was a Steelers fan. What the hell is this guy doing, and who does he think he is? He thinks that just because he is somewhat of a star now, he can do whatever...

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Troubled Steelers first-round pick Santonio Holmes reportedly pulled a hamstring recently. The cause of the injury is unknown. Holmes was arrested twice this offseason, once for domestic battery, to which he pled guilty a week ago. The Steelers are still unlikely to cut ties with the talented wideout, but could strongly consider offering Holmes a one-year, $275,000 rookie contract. It wouldn't be too bold. Holmes is not worth consideration in re-draft fantasy leagues.</div> A 1 year contract, haha. Hilarious.

He barely even deserves that, he's shown nothing but the opposite of being dedicated to this team.

Everyone knew he was a troublemaker coming into the draft.Here--found a little article clip to show you what I mean:<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Steelers | Former league executive saw potential problems with HolmesTue, 27 Jun 2006 21:16:55 -0700Gerry Dulac, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, reports former NFL executive Ken Herock claims he thought Pittsburgh Steelers WR Santonio Holmes was a problem "ready to explode." Herock is a former pro personnel director with the Oakland Raiders, Atlanta Falcons and Green Bay Packers. He has a service called "Pro Prep" in which he counsels and prepares college players on how to conduct themselves in interviews for the NFL Draft. Herock worked with Holmes in January and said, "I had an impression of the kid, where he was from, such a tough area, but soon as he told me he had three kids I knew it was going to be a problem. He was dirt poor, all of a sudden he's got a little money, you get a little rambunctious. But I would have never thought it would happen now. I thought he might explode in year two or three. Add it up -- no money, poor family background, three kids already -- something's going to happen."</div>http://www.kffl.com/hotw/nfl
