He showed absolutely nothing in the G League to warrant being #3.

Although this draft appears to be hopelessly low level… so if you’re swinging on upside it’s ok, I guess… would’ve been like drafting scoot over miller.

If it makes you feel any better, there’s no one as good as Miller in this year’s draft.

Blazers tied with the Spurs for the #4 Lottery spot, but the Spurs won the season series 2-1. Based on whom D69 believes the Spurs have interest in Drafting, they might be fine with for sure falling to #5 if they think the player they want is available there. That way they don't have to spend a higher salary slot for the player they want.

    Pistons @ Spurs
    Blazers @Kings

    Both games at 12:30.

Spurs are clearly tanking. They should have to forfeit their draft pick...to us.

With the second 1st round pick, this guy seems to have a lot of upside. That might be a reach, but I don't think he falls to Portland at #33.

6'11" with a 7'4" wingspan and a solid 235 lbs. Can stretch the floor a bit from the outside, can pass it well and is a good rim defender. If he can slot at PF, that would be some serious size up front.

    15.6 ppg, 10.8 rpg, 4.0 asp, 3.2 bpg, 1.6 spg.

D69 identified him before he was on any mock Draft board. Now he is quickly rising up and it will be interesting to see how high he goes.

Did anyone watch him in the Hoop Summit game last night?

I watched the game highlights. I think they showed 1 really nice pass that ge made... but otherwise he didn't have many highlights.

Anyone who watched the entire game have any reports?

Taking a flier on athletic size with the 2nd pick … Furphy, Salaun, Chomche — foreign-born with both picks? The new NBA.

Salaun will be taken in the first. I admit, there's some Ousmane Dieng vibes there but even he was drafted before Jalen Williams by OKC. I like going for upside. We need shooting anyways.

I like Furphy. Looks like a natural talent with room to become more than he currently is.

I'd give up our Golden State pick with our own just to get Sarr if we had to.

I would like to luck into Sarr and use the GS pick and our seconds to move up for one of the SF projects. Just being greedy. Probably have to throw Ant in and take a garbage contract back.

That would be dope. Would love to get Salaun, Cody or Holland with a second pick. I'm not confident the Blazers even want the pick so I would just settle for getting Sarr before they traded it for a mediocre vet.

Tis a moot point until the lotto happens though

Been a little while since I’ve been on here. I hope everyone’s been doing good man. I went dark on BB because of the tanking but I’m glad the lotto is coming up.

I’m just starting to watch Castle’s film again and maaaaan I loved his game before my hatius, and I still love his game now. Of course you wish he was a bit bigger, but he still has good size and plays much bigger than he is. Good defender. Great rebounder. Good passer and ball handler. I feel like I’m watching a slightly smaller Jimmy Butler.

To me, adding Castle as a third guard to a young starting young backcourt of Scoot and Shae just fits. I got to see Scoot take a lot of 6’10+ guys in the post in the person this season, and I’m super encouraging on his defensive outlook going forward. Any two of the three in the backcourt at all times (post Brogdon and Ant), and I’m going to be happy with our guard play for the next decade.

    Scoot + Shae
    Scoot + Steph
    Steph + Shae

Even if Castle showed us he’s good enough to be considered a cornerstone and needs to start, he and Shae are both big enough to switch off guarding 3’s.

Utility Sports had us taking Cody Williams at 3. Jakobe Walters at 13.

But they have Salaun going 16 and Furphy 18. I would rather either of them over Walter.
