I didn't see any mention of NBA players being 'good' in the NFL. Just that they could make the roster.

Honestly, I think Rivers' statement is true. Simply because of roster size.

30 NBA players finding a roster spot out of the 1,696 available in the league is a lot more likely than 30 NFL players finding a roster spot out of the 450 available in the NBA.

Honestly, I think a lot of the basketball players who would profile well into the NFL don't end up making it into the NBA--at least the modern NBA. Thick, muscular enforcer-types who would have been power forwards in the 90's would make excellent Antonio-Gates-style NFL tight-ends.

As for current NBA players, I think the ones who would be most likely to be successful are the solidly-built 6'3"-6'6" guards who could likely be decent at WR. Dame, Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, Grant Williams, etc. Not gonna go through the league to try to determine if there are 30 who fit that mold, but I would believe that there are several.

After his rookie of the year season, things started to not go as smoothly and when he wasn't living up to expectations he started to become really obsessive and depressed about that. He got way too in his head and played a lot worse because of it, there were also injuries.

He doesn't get into specifics but he said he did things off the court that were so terrible he wasn't going to say but they resulted in his fiance who was the mother of his child leaving him. He then got injured and wasn't on a contract with any team. At that point he sought out help. He got therapy for his mental health and it turned everything around for him. He's back with the woman who left him who is now his wife and he has learned to enjoy the game and accept whatever the best that he can give.

Chuck is great at what he does now but what the fuck is he talking about? Does he think that LeBron is just going to let himself go, get totally overweight and out of shape but still try to play NBA basketball at an all star level resulting in him rupturing his quad because it's carrying too much weight???

I think Chuck's concern is delusions that he was anything close to what LeBron is (as a basketball player, athlete and self disciplined individual). Father time is undefeated, LeBron could get injured but more likely next year or the year after he will lose a step and he'll call it... or he won't and instead a business opportunity like a Vegas expansion team will present itself and he'll move on still able to play at his current level.

I think Sir Charles might suffer from a bad memory about what led to his downfall. It wasn't sticking around too long it was how he was trying or maybe not trying hard enough to stick around.

Yeah that was kind of my point, guys need to train their whole life to make it in any of the major sports, MLB, NBA, NFL, etc. Austin Rivers idea that 30 NBA guys right now could play in the NFL is ridiculous.

It's interesting to me that there's a mini-exodus of Rugby players to the NFL. Kickers in Rugby have a much harder job (it's very rare that you're kicking straight on - you have to kick level with where the try (i.e. touchdown - and you actually have to touch it down) happened, and there are some very fast runners. Example: Louis Rees-Zammit

Idk about right now. I do think some of the players could have been mlb or nfl pros if they chose that route.

Some people are just talented. I remember watching Troy Polamalu absolutely destroy my high-school basketball team. It wasn't even a contest.

    It’s definitely more rare.

In general, if you can play both, 99.99% of them will choose the NBA.

NBA money is “different”. Plenty of NFL players have talked about this.

Not to mention the physical toll on one’s body.

Not sure on the full context but I’d assume that’s why Austin is saying what he is saying.

how we feel about the knicks?

Find it hard not to like the Knicks winning. Knicks haven't been this relevant for a long time. I might have to pull for them to win it even though idk anybody is beating boston.

Whoever posted this bullshit is a fucking child or a puritanical moron. LeBron is a grown ass man on a podcast that obviously hasn't asked him to censor his swearing. Give me a fucking break.

The Suns just Fired Vogel -

at least were not the Suns -- they might be nipping on the Blazers heals for worst run franchise cause they have done a lot to help help Durant but it's put the team between a rock and a hardplace. Also as much as I wanted Dame to remain a Blazer the Suns and KD are a perfect example of how that can go wrong. Now it's possible they might find a way to turn it around but they have like 3 to 5 big contracts and the rest are like nothing so going to be hard to do alot to help KD.
