Refs are letting them play. They better keep the whistles away as they’ve set the tone. Don’t want to see the third period calling a sudden called differently for either team.
Loved that Lavi moved Laf up to the first line with Z and Kreider. He has more than earned that. Put Roslovic on 4th line and bench Brod. Double shift Laf and whomever else.
Better period, but still too many mental lapses. Missed WAY too many chances. Score in the first 5-7 minutes in the third and break their will to play.
Much better 2nd period, now they have to finish some more of their chances. Lafreniere has been great tonight, but I wish he would finish some of his chances in this game, and Wennberg is allergic to scoring goals, not sure how he didn't bury that chance. Overall, I haven't loved the Rangers game tonight, sloppier and looser on D with Canes being left alone, and have failed to finish quality chances, but even with that only down one goal going into the 3rd, which I would have taken coming in. Go play one strong period and see where that gets us.
Wennberg is who is he, won't win FO's or score goals, but he will play a smart game and be defensively responsible and solid on the PK. That's who he is, and if you accept him for that as a bottom 6 forward, you have a solid player.
