What a moronic post, glad your not the GM.

Some players like Ant (Edward) hit nearly all of their upside and others fall far short. Thats called variance.

The variance is all the reason the Blazers need MORE highly drafted players like Scoot/Sharpe/#7/#5 if possible/etc. Many of these guys won't hit. The more swings we take the more hits we get, and hopefully at some point we score.

Context. You're making my case for me. It's irrelevant for a team like Detroit who has been horrible for so long. Look how Ivey has turned out so far.

They would easily give up 5 for a sure thing like Ant who has plenty of room to grow. Try to follow along.

they will have cap space next league year but in 23-24 they're operating as an over the cap team.

you're referring to the 24-25 pistons with renounced cap holds and declined players, which begins 7/1/24 (after draft night).

Trades are often agreed to at or before the draft but finalized in the next cap year.

No, I wouldn't use the word often.

It does happen, but it becomes more complex especially when there are other moving parts.

Note for everyone: Fanspo has already defaulted to the 24-25 league year for these trades, so keep that in mind when making stuff up. The timeline is important.

    Is this terrible?

I'd take Risacher at 3 and then whoever drops to 7 that we like. Probably BPA

And rockets get a rookie PG at 7?

    I would do this.

BK might consider as well seeing as how they have no incentive to tank.

What's the FVV rationale for Houston and BKN?

    Here's my early summer wishlist:

    Trade 1
    Grant/Thybulle/#14 to Houston
    FVV to Brooklyn
    Simmons/#3/2025 PHX pick to Portland

    Trade 2
    Simons/Brogdon/Williams to Golden State
    Paul/Kuminga/Wiggins/2026 pick to PDX

Warriors get one more influx of talent to try to make a run with Steph. Blazers try to move Paul/Wiggins somewhere and just eat Simmons. He probably doesn't play anyway. He only has one year left.

    Scoot
    Sharpe
    Risacher
    Kuminga
    Ayton

Brooklyn gets rid of Simmons, they get a starting/fringe All-Star point guard in FVV. There's no incentive for them to tank. I just don't see any point in Portland taking back FVV.

Dont see houston adding to their glut of wings. They need guards.

I was kinda hoping we could keep 7 and send them 14. You think they'd insist on 7?

    How about this

    upload_2024-5-13_13-7-59.png

Rockets get Grant/Brogdon/14 and 2025 PHX pick.

Is that too step for the #3?

Not bad. I've heard they want to trade #3 for Bridges of Brooklyn. Not sure if Brooklyn is finally willing to let Mikael go but that's their thought process from what I've heard. I actually think throwing in 14 is overkill but I mostly like it.

I guess it all depends on whether Portland really offered Simons/#3 last year. All reports I heard was that we did. I can't imagine Brooklyn trading Bridges for #3 in a weak draft after turning down Simons/Scoot.

If Portland trades up I want it to be with basketball players, not the 14 pick. If they're using the 14 pick in a trade it should be to sweeten another package or to trade for a future pick on draft night after someone becomes enamored.

I don't see this happening until after the draft when future picks are opened up.
