Welp, one period left to show some balls or get ready for game 7! Who would have thought that after game 3
They went right back to what eventually happened in the Tampa series two years ago and the NJ series last year. Seemingly in control and then another Rangers team decided to show up.
Not much to say, terrible passing, weak effort, no shows by the big players, all sounds very familiar. While of course the Rangers can win an anything can happen game 7, I am not sure why anyone would have confidence in them winning, or truly think they will win game 7. Hindsight is always 20/20, but game 4 was the shot, and the Canes scored late to win it, and from then on we have curled up into the fetal position like little children. Sad, but again very predictable for the Rangers, and especially this group. Just like last season when Gallant had some blame, Lav deserves some blame, but just like last season it is these players. If Drury, or whomever is the new Pres/GM doesn't do something big to change up this core I see no point in even watching this team. If they blow this series, and it is still an if as they can win still, you must make big moves to change this up as these players would have done something most would say is darn near impossible in the NHL playoffs, blow 2-0, 2-0, and 3-0 series leads in back-to-back-to back years. I know you all don't love the metrics, but that is almost a statistical impossibility in the NHL. Unreal. Again, still an if as the series is not over, but it is not looking good right now. But it is not over yet.
The deadline is for the playoffs and Drury added complete crap. Complete non factors whose names you barely if at all hear mentioned.
You know my opinion on the trade DL moves, I don't think anyone went off more in here than I did. It was a miss, and it is glaring. You also know my opinion on Drury from day one, he is in over his head. If they blow this series, it will be very interesting to me to see if Drury survives. I would get rid of him, but not sure if they will.
like said before the only hope is canes throw a stinker in game 7. They also haven't been great on the road in the playoffs the last 4 years. I think they're like 4 and 20 or something like this.
Canes are great at funneling the puck carrier to two guys standing up at the line...Rangers have nowhere to go when they try to carry the puck over.
