This is so true, but I think that can happen especially when your goalie let's in a terrible goal. If the Canes want to whine about something, that is what they should whine about, the 2nd goal Andersen allowed that is what really changed the game, and cost the Canes IMO. Monday or Tuesday night MSG will be rocking as the Rangers look to make the SCF for the first time since 2014. I like that the Rangers will have 3 or 4 days off, I think that is the perfect amount of time to not get rusty and stay sharp and rest up a bit as well. Hopefully the Knicks follow the Rangers there tomorrow night or Sunday afternoon.
They came back from the dead. The Panarin like played well all game and Kreider showed up in the 3rd. Really need more scoring from the bottom 2 lines and defenseman. Wennberg Kakko Cuylle and Vesey need to chip in
Almost drove off the road when kreider scored the hatrick...big fuck you to Siriusxm for only having the Canes play by play available... Well that's #8
What a game! The comeback kids do it again and CK cements himself as Rangers legend. Trocheck was a hitting machine in the series, now tied with Trouba with 36 hits, also missed by the refs was that old clown Burns body slamming Vinnie to the ice. Trouba now with 47 blocked shots, Fox 2nd with 25. Jacob also leads Rangers dmen in scoring but yet the hate continues when he has one misstep. Roslovic has been a decent deadline pickup but Wennberg can sit, he's done nothing in 10 games. Hope the Bs can extend the series and they continue beating the crap out of each other.
Interesting nugget from Brooks, I wonder if that is the illness Chytil had: There’s ample reason to believe that Kreider, as many of his teammates, have been dealing with a flu-like illness that raced through the team. No Ranger would acknowledge it. I have heard enough to believe that it’s true. I also know enough that this would never be an excuse for losing the series after taking a 3-0 lead. The Rangers have now been to the ECF 5 times in 13 years, that is solid. They need to finish one of these runs off with a SC though as they are currently 1-3 in the 4 prior ECF runs since 2012 (Kreider on the team for all of them).
The ECF starts Wednesday night at MSG - 8 PM on ESPN (ESPN/ABC has the ECF this year). They play every other day with a potential game 7 on June 3rd. All games at 8 PM except game 3 which will be at 3 PM on Sunday the 26th in Florida or Boston. I like that schedule, all night games except game 3, also gives the Rangers 5 days off until Wednesday, which is a good number. The other plus is if the Knicks can get it done tonight or Sunday, they start in Boston on Tuesday night and play every other day (ESPN/ABC also has the ECF for bball - all night games). It is a perfect match of Knicks one night, Rangers the next night, and so on...if the Knicks can finish off the Pacers. I think the Knicks will get by the Pacers, I hope for tonight, I think it is a tossup game, but I think worst case they win game 7 at MSG. Then I think the Knicks lose in 5 or 6 to Boston after a great run for them. The Rangers I think will win the ECF, rather play Boston, but I think they would beat the Panthers also, albeit in a longer tougher series. IMO, when you take the Rangers out, I think the Canes were the best team in the NHL, and the Rangers just beat them and should feel extra confident in what they can do moving forward. Let's get it done Knicks, then enjoy some more excitement starting in Boston Tuesday and MSG Wednesday.
Yes, I think they could both be ready. Thing to remember is both have been practicing and are medically cleared to play (Wheeler was officially removed from the injury list yesterday). After seeing Brooks talk about the flu running through the team, I am thinking/hoping maybe Chytil had the flu and that was the illness, who knows but it is possible. One would think those guys should be good in 5 days, at the very least in the conversation and ready if needed due to injury. As we all know, it is good to have depth in the playoffs.
