Even Brooks is calling for Rempe . He pointed out Chytil was benched for 15 minutes before that last shift when he got fuckin blasted by Mikkola and nobody did shit
Brooks does have good points in his article. Lav did have kind of a weird night with how he utilized his players, going down to 5 or 6 forwards, if you aren't going to play Chytil for over 14 minutes or play him in the 3rd, what is the point of having him in the lineup, and pointing out the Rangers need to come out physical in game 2. Messier also called for Rempe in for game 2. If it were me, I would put Rempe in for Vesey if I was going to play him, unless Chytil isn't really ready, then as Brooks said why play him if you are going to bench him trailing by one goal, it makes no sense. If you had Cuylle/Chytil/Kakko on the 3rd line and Goodrow/Wennberg/Rempe on the 4th line, I would be okay with that. Between Chytil, Wheeler, and Rempe I think any of those 3 guys could be in and I wouldn't be surprised (Brod has no shot to play). It really is wide-open, and I think we'll all be watching closely around 8:00 tomorrow night to see what the lineup actually looks like.
There is no disputing the Garden crowd's reaction when Rempe hops on the ice, makes a difference in a one goal game. Whether it's conditioning from being out so long or lingering effects of the injury Chytil is not the same player and still spends too much time with his head down, 2 games played and twice crushed with a check by his opponent. I agree with Lav thinking Rempe is a marked man but this deep in the playoffs refs are going to let them play.
I said it a while ago. The only way this team wins is when the top six plays well and scores. They got shit from their bottom lines all season and playoffs. That’s not gonna change at this point. Sometimes it’s more than someone that could score to change the game or series. If Rempe plays he should be crowding the net, face washing a couple guys, and fuck up one of their players. Watch the last minute of game one and the Panthers fourth line just absolutely bullied the Rangers. That mouse Lomberg was hitting everything. And then Chytil gets fucking blasted and nobody does shit. Maybe Rempe scores. I remember in 2014 everyone here was attacking me because I said put Carcillo in and it turned out he made a difference in the Flyers series. Crazy that JT Miller (and Fast) was the extra forward that year
