I'm not really concerned with booming. It's not inherently a bad thing. But it's not something I seek out either. I just hate driving through or having to go to Beaverton.
You ever consider Air BNBs. My wife and I swear by them and that’s all we do now, no matter where we go.
Here’s an Air BNB that is near us. A lot of cool shops and restaurants in the Alberta Arts neighborhood. https://www.airbnb.com/slink/Tt3kkznT
Not to mention the people in beaverton (westsiders). I would reccomend a couple nights in the soaking pools of the Crystal Hotel or Kennedy school.
Thanks a lot for your help. I am quietly preparing my trip. One evening in Portland City Grill is booked. Hope I will get a window table AirBnB booked as well. I will ask for a few trip recommendation as well but I have a little time and Denver, The Arches, Utah, Yellowstone is a bit more urgent than the backend of the trip.
Yellowstone, Jackson Wy, a great party town. Yellowstone Park, be prepared for huge crowds and slow moving conga line traffic. The nearby Tetons are underrated and beautiful, even from the road on a drive through.
Oh man, enjoy your trip. Utah is surprisingly beautiful. Definitely check out the Bryce Canyon and zion Canyon national parks if you can. Please keep us posted on your trip and share lots of pictures!
Beaverton is awful. My ex has had her car broken into three times in Beaverton and had to deal with an RV of heroin addicts parked in her neighborhood. Meanwhile I lived in SE for eight years, NE for three years, and NW under the 405 overpass and never had so much as an unkind word happen to me.
If going to the arches, just know you have to have a reservation. We found out the hard way when we showed up and couldn’t get in. We were just at Yellowstone and saw tons of wolves and bears/. Let me know and I can give you a idea where the wolves are if those are of interest
Or if you want to see really scary apex predators in their natural environment, drive to "Bare World".
