With multiple teams out west having height at the 4 and 5, and the Spurs seeming like they want Wemby at 4 and then may add a 5, Do Blazers build more traditionally, or should they be on the look for two 7+ footers? They seem a long way from that right now, but there are certainly some tall prospects, mainly at 14.

I say just add the best player possible at each position. Then make sure you have a player on the bench who can match up defensively against taller stretch 4s in the playoffs. And that does not necessarily mean that the player needs to be over 7'.

I think they need to worry about just getting back to being able to win 30 games a season, before they worry about OTHER teams.

For all we know there will be a different team that dominates the west such as OKC. Or there could be a dynasty in the East. So no, the Blazers don't need to worry about the Spurs specifically.

When were a clear HCA team that's when we can start to think about possible playoff series matchups. Maybe we're 3 years away or maybe 13.

I don't think winning 30-40 games next year would be too hard if they choose to keep everyone. But no one seems to want to. I mean a healthy depth chart like this could easily win 30 games while developing their youth.....especially when several teams will be trying to tank.

    Brogdon-Scoot
    Shae- Ant
    Grant-#7 (Holland?)
    Walker-Camara
    Ayton-#14 (Ware ?)

That still leaves Williams, Thybulle, Rupert, Reath, and Murray.

what makes you think the Spurs want Wemby at PF?

They started Wemby at PF and Zach at C for the first 20 games of the season, but then pretty much gave up on that experiment. And once they moved Wemby to C was when he really started to bloom into a generational talent as a rookie

Cronin has hard tanked every season he's been the GM so why would this year be different?

Yeah, I mention Minne and OKC in the title. My point was that three of the top teams are at least potentially running very tall PFs beside more traditional centers. It is likely Blazers at some point will have to get past one or two of those teams. Minne may time out before Blazers get there.

The opposite argument is that the Wolves went with two bigs in part to compete with Denver, which they did. But then they are getting knocked out by Dallas, who has a more traditional (except Doncic) lineup.

It won't be. I am just saying they could if they wanted to.

Scoot still backing Brogdon at the point and Ant still playing that 6th man role (Like that worked out so well last season?) I’m glad you’re not the GM.

You seemed to have missed my point. I didn't say I would do it, I said they would win 30 games with that lineup if they wanted to.
And no they didn't try it last year. Scoot started day one next to Ant.

Cronin has tanked hard every season after the injury bug has made winning impossible. I suspect he’ll give winning at least a brief shot until reality forces a change in plan.

keep Banton. When all the starters quit early again, the kids will need a team captain old enough to buy the beer.

Are our players growing this offseason like last year? Didn't Ant grow like 4 inches one off season?
Maybe Sharpe and Scoot both added a couple inches? Walker could use and inch or two?
Heck who needs to draft height when we grow our own?
How old is Ayton? Can he catch up with Wemby?
