Length and shooting. Ware gives you that. Salaun projects to give you that. Cody Williams can give you some.

after watching a ton of film on salaun....

holy hell, he's not close to contributing in a few years. need a ton of faith in the developmental staff. the potential downside is really high with this dude. i think there are very obvious and distinct tiers between him and risacher.

I have heard 3 years of development. Might as well be Rupert.

the biggest appeal is the physical stuff. and the giannis precedence, i suppose. but we gotta keep in mind giannis is the exception, not a rule.

Better to take Dadiet in the second round. He's similar size, and a much better player right now.

excellent! Draft that kid. No point in trying to win games until the entire league starts to crumble. Aim for that 2029-32 playoff era, go Blazers !!

Givony's latest mock had tons of info about Portland.

Clingan just finished a private workout with the Blazers.

Portland has interest in Knecht, Topic, Cody Williams, Edey (upcoming workout), Kyshawn George

Yeah Topic would be a draft and stash for the whole season. Mentioned basically red shirting. I think if he’s there at 14 you take him.

Give me Kyshawn George. As I will be in Portland right after the draft, the timing couldn't be better to come and interview him.

Ron Holland has workouts with teams slotted at 15 and 17. What am I missing here? He's a top 10 pick at worst in my mind.

    Is he this season's Eason/Whitmore?

If available at 14 and we let him go, I will be disappointed. When in doubt, bet on athleticism.

Good seeing Kyshawn on that list. I don't understand why he is so far down the list on the mock drafts.
Maybe someone can tell me what the knock on him is. But I would have no problem taking him at 14....he can easily play 3 positions.

Average athleticism, mediocre production in college. He seems to have all the tools for the mold, but he hasn't actually shown that he can do what teams would want him to do.

Yeah I can see where the lack of athleticism could be a worry, but to me he looks like a 3 & D type player who can handle the ball, pass and has excellent 3 pt range.

Plays a lot like Butler. If we draft a big at 7 and RH is there at 14, we take him! If we go a 2/3 and Ware is there at 14?

I agree, and he's one of the guys that makes me wish the Blazers would trade for a 3rd pick in the teens. I'm just saying, that's why he's not considered a consensus lottery talent

That's interesting. There's no way we can let him slide past us at #14. Our hand would be forced at that point, Topic being available notwithstanding.

    Agreed.

Honestly, I think he's a top 5 in this class.
Watching film, he is one of the most impressive players in this class (IMO). He has holes in his game, but I think they are fixable. He plays with a lot of heart & energy. He was also one of the best producing players based on my statistical analysis.

It's just practically near impossible for a player to not have ball handling and develop it in the NBA at a competent level, especially within the context that they'll be able to use it on the floor to get shots (it's more than simply being able to dribble in a vacuum, mind you).

He'll probably be very similar to Travis Outlaw, as a prospect, where he throws it down with authority and has long strides in motion/tremendous athleticism while also being able to catch and shoot a semi-unblockable jumpshot due to his length. Everyone is giddy about the day he'll finally arrive but due to lacking that ball handling and capability to move in multiple directions while handling, he just doesn't become much more than a fun 13-15ppg type role player.

My Prediction (Dillingham and Buzelis fall, Castle+Carter promised, Topic ACL scares teams, Hawks surprise with Clingan):

    1. Clingan
    2. Sarr
    3. Sheppard
    4. Castle
    5. Risacher
    6. Holland
    7. Williams
    8. Topic
    9. Edey
    10. Knecht
    11. Carter
    12. Ware
    13. Salaun
    14. Smith
