If the Blazers in trading Dame had matched the haul the Thunder got for Paul George, that might be a good comparison. I don’t see any SGA plus 5 first rounders and two pick swaps in the Blazers asset list.

Preach bro. You said exactly what I’m thinking. I don’t get people’s thoughts to move Ant for that Orlando package.

I get the notion some think the 3 guard line up isn’t ideal long term and one of the 3 out of Ant, Scoot and Sharpe need to go eventually.

But that package from Orlando with Black and WCJ is garbage and I don’t get it one bit.

Take out the Dame and George trades. Its all the other moves the Thunder did. They flipped Westbrook for CP3 and got extra draft picks. They later flipped CP3 to Phoenix and got draft picks. They added draft picks by taking on salary (instead of overpaying irrelevant players like Thybulle). They traded Danny Green for draft picks. They added Al Horford for a draft pick then traded him for value later. They somehow got in on Harden being traded to Philly and got draft picks. They acquired Derrick Favors for draft picks. They sent out Steven Adams for draft picks.

They also kept their cap sheet clean, so they have cap space to make things happen this summer while they were the #1 seed. Meanwhile the Blazers had the 3rd worst record in the league and are in the luxury tax from prioritizing irrelevant older role playing veterans.

Another one of my trade suggestions that nobody will like. Basically we unload Anfernee and Jerami and pick up Anthony Black and Houston's #3. We have to take on Fred VanVleet's massive salary, but (a) his contract has an out very soon, and (b) he's obviously an excellent veteran leader, given how the Rockets transformed when he arrived. So why would Houston want to unload him? Well, because they want to fast track Amen as a big PG? Because they don't need a traditional PG with the passing skills of Sengun and Green? Because they want to be able to start a huge defensive lineup of Green, Brooks, Grant, Jabari Smith, Sengun? I gave them a pick so they can draft one of the many PG prospects to develop if they want a trad. PG. Oh, and they also get the chance that Timelord is healthy, in which case they'd be scary.

Orlando likes it because they offload Cole Anthony and keep their defensive bigs.

So at the end of the day, we would end up with Black, #3, #7, and #18. Depending on who is there at #3 and who we get for Van Vleet..... that's not bad at all.

I actually love this trade especially if we can flip FVV for anything that fits our rebuild. Like @Pinwheel1 said sending out Ant, Jerami, Delano, Rob and pick 14 for FVV, Black and picks 3 and 18 would be a home run for us.

I hope he doesn't get traded. Then my NBA Jam shirt will be fully obsolete.

    Haha it was a joke.

I like wearing those shirts no matter if the players are still here or not. They even have ones like Payton and Kemp for the Sonics.

I bought a Lillard T shirt right after he was traded before they were gone.

Black as the playmaking bigger guard who defends? YES. An Orlando trade is doable.
3 — if it’s Sarr or Risacher then definitely, YES. Others? Okay.
    18 — useful player
    7 — Salaun or Williams or …

FLIPS — FVV [$42.85 MM], Malcolm [$22.5 MM] — by February — or reduce team salary.

    Bigs — Ayton, Reath, Badji
Forwards — Camara, Walker, Thybulle, Murray
Guards — Scoot, Sharpe, Black, Rupert

    #3 / #7 / #18 / #34 / #40

Jackson Gatlin, host of Locked on Rockets just said he would absolutely give up #3 pick and filler for Ant. He doesn't know about the fit but he was enthusiastic about that deal.

Ant for the rights to Sarr? I like it!

No, he said that was nonsense/unrealistic and not worth it from the Blazers side. He said he would be excited to give 3 and change for Ant.

I wouldn't give up that much for 3.

But if you were certain #3 would be a long time starter its worth it.

We’ve already had two pitiful seasons and I don’t care to watch two or three more.

    My newest dumb idea:

    Portland out: simons, 14
In: jett Howard, 11, Our pick back, '25 Denver pick, '25 pick of Philly or Miami

    Magic in: simons
Out: Howard, WCJ, 18, '25 Denver pick k

    Chicago in: 12, 18
    Out: 11, PDX pick

    OKC in: 14, WCJ
Okc out: 12, Philly or Miami '25 pick

Magic pay a decent price, but get their backcourt shooter to pair with a solid young frontcourt.

Chicago continues on their rebuild, only move down one spot, add an additional pick, while giving up a pick that may never convey.

OKC gets a great pairing alongside chet up front, for only sliding down 2 spots, and a future 1st of which they have hundreds. Couldn't remember exact protections, but maybe we say more favorable of okc. Miami or Philly pick.

Portland moved up 3 spots in this draft, gains a meh prospect, add 2 picks in next year's draft, and regain control of our picks going forward

Gotta watch other teams, then, because the rebuild hasn't even been going for a year yet.

    3 pitiful seasons actually.
    it's a complicated rebuild

    Year 1, teardown, tank
    Year 2, failed retool, tank
    Year 3, ouchie poo, tank
Year 4, ?? starts late October
