    Hadn't realized it but I was there for his last hit and RBI. Mays played for the Mets in 1973, a shadow of his former self. They played the A's in the world series. Game two in Oakland was a wild back and forth affair that Mets eventually won 10-7. Mays as a pinch hitter drove in winning run.
    Hey, A's still won the world series.

    When Mays played Negro League ball, one of his teammates was a minister. Still is at age 90. He was pastor of 16th Street Baptist Church, where Klan bombing killed four young girls.
