We'll have to see in the next week if the Warriors even keep Pauls contract. Unless they can use it to trade for Paul George or something I expect they cut CP3 and pocket the cash. That franchise, and especially minority owners, are not happy paying $300+ million on payroll/luxury tax to lose as the 10th seed. They really don't have any realistic path to contend unless they use Pauls contract and picks/Kuminga/etc to bring in a veteran. Even then most veterans would still have them on the road in round 1 unless its a Paul George level which just seems extremely unlikely.

Rockets are "considering" offering Sengun for Durant?

Kind of like Miami "considering" offering Herro for Dame last summer.... that offer is beyond dead on arrival.

Did you miss, "The picks at the tail end of the deal, who knows"? The front half of the deal is basically good 2nd round picks. The back half is unknown. Betting on NYK to suck for a stretch of years isn't a bad plan, but odds are still high that the pick swaps go nowhere because the Nets will always be the worse team.

You're a bit off in how the Celtics got Tatum and Brown, at least in terms of context. They dumped over-the-hill players on a desperate Nets team that resulted in the Nets still sucking. That's pretty tough to replicate, because teams usually get better (i.e., worse draft picks) when they acquire stars.

Yeah, Phoenix won't do that, but they should consider moving him for some sort of combo of Houston's young assets. Amen, Jabbari, Eason Whitmore, Sengun, Green, and #3 could all be in play.

If Dame tells you I like you to get Bridges. Would you give 5 first rounders to the Nets?

I thought it was funny how the narrative last year was that either Brooklyn was insane to not take Simons/Scoot OR that we never really made a good faith offer for Bridges.

Now we see what Brooklyn got for him....

Do you think they would trade him for our 3rd round pick?

And instead of that consideration, it turns to "look at Cronin and what he got for Dame! He sucks!" Not taking into account Dames contract and age.

Also, "Dame requested 1 team too, Cronin sucks for not getting that haul from Miami" ignoring the fact that Miami didn't have 5 1sts to give and didn't really have stuff they were willing to offer us that was better than the Milwaukee offer.

When you have a guy like Steph, it would be criminal not to do that. That would be like having a prime Dame and refuse to trade CJ for someone like PG13.

They can offer him a max/s&t, but the Clippers have to want what they have to offer.

Somebody will bail out the Warriors because someone will want to play with Steph. The Lakers always get out of cap issues. You know this. They get more one year vet minimum deals than any team in the league.

Correct, but the Clippers could also lose him for nothing...

I would guess it would be something like CP3's expiring contract, maybe Kevon Looney, a young guy and a pick.

That was my first thought but I’m glad I wasn’t alone thinking that.

Sure, they could lose him for nothing, but if they did that, he wouldn't be going to the Warriors. So it's not as cut and dry as that.

This PG rumor to G. St can only help the Blazers IF they are trying to trade Grant so I am all for it. The only downside is it might push the Rockets to make a bigger splash so we might lose that outlet to dump a vet but we shall see.

As I said, I agreed with you, the question for the Clippers is, are they willing to get a pick and some junk for him or are they happy to just let him go. I would suspect they would want to get something... This is not a NeO let LMA walk out the door for no compensation kind of stupidity.
