I'm not saying they won't trade him; I think they should, but asking for a players no trade list is pretty standard, just because they asked for his 15 teams doesn't mean Trouba will be traded. I do firmly believe he is very tradable though with only 2 years left on his contract.

Depending on the return, would the Rangers have to take a contract back, I would guess the Rangers would have to retain some of his cap hit though, maybe 2 or 3 million. As a $5M or $6M player Trouba will absolutely have value to some teams. Even if the Rangers had to retain $3M, the $5M they would free up would be huge to add a RW and a bigger dman that fits better to play with Fox and would allow them to move Lindgren down.

Sather is gone but his philosophy of softness lives on! Trade the dman first to 100 hits/blocked shots every year, the Rangers won't miss a beat. Excuses galore for Atom Fox and his postseason scoring impotence, no need for a list his NTC hasn't kicked in yet!

Seems like Islanders scored with Eiserman falling to them

oh man, this Leah Hextall lady makes me wish for Emily. She just asked Eiserman’s dad about temper tantrums as a kid. Jfc

Eiserman is a comedy show on defense. So, I'm not surprised he dropped in the draft. Defense and goaltending wins in the playoffs.

From Brooks article today (I said they would have to retain 2 to 3 million):

Indeed, a well-placed source has told The Post that GM Chris Drury is working on a deal to send the captain to the Red Wings, a trade that the Michigan native would presumably accept after having played as a freshman for the Wolverines in 2012-13.

We are told the Rangers may retain $2.5 million per year on the two remaining seasons of Trouba’s $8M annual cap charge. That represents 31.25 percent retention that would also be applied to the $12M in salary Trouba has coming over the next two seasons.

If that does become the amount of retention if this deal goes through, that would clear an additional $5.5M in space … but the Blueshirts would have to then find a reasonable replacement for the most physical and menacing player on the team who held down a spot on their first penalty-kill unit.
