Yeah, clingan isn't ready for 30 minutes a night. Let him back up Ayton, unless someone overpays. Grant and ant and RW3 on the move please

ya we need to definitively open up 15-20 mpg for DC. otherwise, that's a wasted pick.

Which would not happen if a healthy (big if) Timelord is on the team.

RW3 will open up minutes for DC with his next injury.

what is the acceptable return for him in a trade now?

any chance at a heavily protected first, or do we need to showcase him?

I'd love to send him to Memphis for a heavily protected first.

    Couple of 2nds probably.
Someone said it before, but I don't think showcasing does as much for gms as it does for fans. Everyone knows he is injury prone. Him being healthy for the first month of the season just means a team that wants him missed out on a healthy month. If they read his medical, that should be enough

Because of the same reason why we want to keep Ayton?

    Ayton/Clingan/Reath is plenty

With our injury history with Simons/Grant/Williams, send them out now. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. Just send them out. Even if it means taking slightly less.

There’s honestly probably more pressure to move Ant if you want Scoot to get all the minutes he can. Buuut Grant probably will command more because we’ve been able to gauge the value of wings with two trades so far this summer. We are all waiting to see if Ingram goes for 3 1sts or something like that. Wonder what his next contract looks like (probably around $40+m/yr?), someone will be taking that on as well on top of trading multiple picks. There might not be that many better options this summer after we find out where PG lands.

I think Grant is the only immediate need to be moved. Thybulle as well, we need the developmental minutes and I am not all too impressed with highlight defensive plays covering up overall undisciplined fundamentals.

i don't see the parallels. Memphis has proven vets already in JJJ, Aldama, and Brandon Clarke.

Yup. Clingan will only likely play 20mpg. It really helps though this season that Chauncey will have a spry 20 yo defensive anchor or a fresh shooting big that he can sub in for a different vibe whenever he is unhappy with DA’s play.

DA’s perimeter defense has been the welcomed surprise though. I’m really interested to see how DA would look at PF for maybe a solid 6min stretch a night. Guys like Sarr and Wemby and Mobley are going to keep coming into the league. DA is good enough with his feet that we can try two big lineups now before ever acquiring one of those guys.

Overall, I’m happy with this big man rotation. The only goal should be to upgrade the wing position.

    my goals:
    - open up a runway for scoot/sharpe
    - get camara/clingan rotation minutes
    - build good habits
    - lose

These are the only goals! Seriously I hope our leadership (coaching and front office) are only thinking about those things.

I want the Magic to strike out in free agency and I'd be happy with Black and the better of the Magic's 2025 picks they own... with a big TPE.
