Bro. You ever meet Coach Stotts? That’s a good dude. You gotta think before you type.

Good for those two. Stotts is a good guy when all is said and done. I do think he could have helped MIL out some. Stackhouse is good too.

The team seemed better coached under Stotts, but that's not saying much.

I liked Stotts but it was also time for him to go but right now if you told me he would replace Billups for one year while Cronin and co. did it's due diligence to look for a new coach I would be all for it . These new assistants might help some but part of me wonders if this move is like the old saying -- putting lip stick on a pig and in the end might be a little better but was it really worth all the effort.

It also speaks to how a coach like Kerr views him. Is it likely Kerr would hire an incompetent moron? Prolly not. Says a lot imho.

Deserves it's own thread. Stotts is on the mt Rushmore of Blazers coaches with Dr Jack and Adelman. 4th I'd probably put Mike Dunleavy then Mr Sonic. Maurice Cheeks gets an honorable mention from his Anthem assist which may be the best moment I've ever seen of an NBA head coach.

Billups contract ends after this season. Wouldn't surprise me at all, and I might even say it's most likely both team and Billups mutually decided to go in different directions.

I'd be all on board for then having a year of Stotts as the coach. Would imagine him and Cronin likely have a good relationship. Terry connected to Portland and has a very upbeat attitude. We're so far away from wins, losses, x and o mattering that Id enjoy having him coach just year by year.

There is only 2 coaches who should be on the "Mt Rushmore" of Blazer coaches. Jack and Rick.

I’d put Tim Grgurch up there as well.

Quiet, that's where they are. Some fickle fans in here. Sometimes you don't know what we have till it's gone. This forum does what it does best, complain and look for a scapegoat, every damn season!

So Anthony Irwin is saying Stotts was offered a job with the Lakers multiple times and has turned them down.
Yeah this "Anyone is better than Stotts" crew is nowhere to be found right now. Some of the same people saying "Anyone is better than Billups" right about now.
If I had my choice with this brand new group of players I would love to see what Stotts could do.

I was never an anti Scotts person. I will say I miss Stotts in game management to get the W. I do not miss his load management which brought more early season wins over late. Long term player development suffered. Now....we have exactly the opposite.

The negativity here is not unique. It's everywhere. It is today's self important view of sports. "I deserve better".

Nah, the level of negativity in here is on a different level imo...When you look at social media for other teams, it's mainly positive.
