It says he spoke for five minutes. This video took four clips that covered about 35-40 seconds. (I know, I went back and actually used the timestamps to see how long these "cringe" comments took -- they played several back, I guess to try and taunt). My first question then is ... "Why aren't you playing the whole five minutes?" Then, let's get what the video did post. He says for "a lot of reasons." They have to highlight "lottery" for their bubble, because otherwise no one would notice. Ever hear someone say "gonna" or "wanna"? It's the same thing. It's a dialect. I live a couple of hours from where Biden is from. Everyone talks like that here. No one would have noticed it in a casual conversation. "And looked at what was happened"? Maybe he misspoke, but he wasn't far off what any of us would have said. Maybe he meant, "looked at what had happened" or "looked at what was happening." Either way, a guy in his 80s who's had a pronounced stutter all his life is off by ... three letters. He met with American veterans, 12 or 14 who were over 102 years old. If you can't understand that, the problem isn't Biden, it's you. Anyway, what it boils down to is just something really lame and insignificant. People worried about something like this I imagine have to be horrified about the prospect of a president that would incite an insurrection, or tell people to ingest bleach to defeat COVID, or would turn Afghanistan over to the Taliban, or would pressure Georgia to change their vote totals, or would sexually assault women, or would go bankrupt a half-dozen times, or would call White supremacists "very fine people," or would stack SCOTUS with activist far-right judges who deprived the majority of Americans of rights long held from previous rulings, or would ... well, you probably get the idea. One thing is lame, a trivial flex or taunt. The other actually goes to the character and competence of the person who one seems to be suggesting they are fine having as the most powerful person in the free world. Just weird, man. Weird and shortsighted.
Hillary Clinton is alive and well. Why is that news? In 2016 she had pneumonia and was sick for a few weeks. During attack of dizziness she fell and hit her head. When they weren't screaming emails media full of stories about how frail she is. Might not survive her first term. Trump older and clinically obese but he was strong and powerful. She frail. Eight years later Hillary Clinton is very much alive. But media wants a story. Biden dropping out would be a huge story. They breathlessly await and meanwhile story after story about why he should leave. Convicted felon? No, he's fine. CNN chair famously said Trump is terrible for country but great for ratings. Media wants a Trump presidency.
Project 2025 explicitly says use FCC to revoke broadcasting licenses of media outlets tjay don't praise Trump. Guess they are practicing.
I am keeping this short. So maybe you might get the point. I do not want Trump or Biden for president. Each has their own very long list of reasons why. Bidens mental capacity was never on my list. It is now. There are far too many signs he is starting to slip in and out of some form of dementia.
He's toast. Time to move on. The man should never have been elected in the first place, if not for Trump. He has a sorry record of decades of service - being on the wrong side of civil rights, abortion, being creepy around young girls, and more. Ambition over party and country is a terrible trait in a person. It is beyond absurd to try and defend the man at this point. His dementia has been on display for the past couple of years at least. Use the 25th and let Kamala be presidential for a few months before the election. Kamala should energize Democrats to go out and vote. I think she beats Trump, which is the goal, no? I'm voting for RFK Jr. this time around.
Oh, I got your point clearly. You might not want either, but that's the choice you have. You might think Biden might have dementia after the debate. Trump has shown signs of dementia, but he also tried to stop the peaceful transfer of power, failed miserably in almost every measurable way in his first term (Biden actually got infrastructure through, something Trump promised and failed to do), was impeached twice, now is a convicted felon still with 50 charges pending, jokes about sexually abusing women, has cheated on his wife, gave Afghanistan to the Taliban, tried to pressure Georgia into changing its votes, etc., etc. You might not like me saying this, but if you think there's any equivalence between Biden and Trump -- even if you don't think Biden is a good candidate -- you have a complete lack of perspective. That's even before Project 2025 or Trump's promise to punish those that opposed him is considered at all. A vote for Trump is a vote against the country. A vote against Biden or whoever the Democrats run against Trump is shortsighted and a vote against the country. Not voting for either is effectively a vote for Trump and a vote against the Constitution and the foundational principles of the country.
100%. I hate that this is the case. But this is the case. Both parties are evil. But there is clear evil on the ballot and only 1 candidate has the ability to prevent that evil from being president. Let's prevent that evil from being president and then set about changing the shitty system that forces us to choose between these shitty parties.
Citizens United sucks. What we can do anyway. -Open primaries in which the top 4 vote getters advance to the general. -Ranked choice voting. -Eliminate gerrymandering
And when they can't afford insulin or get the kid's teeth cleaned, I'm sure they'll still be blaming the Democratic Party that no longer exists.
Trump kept falling asleep at his own trial. Forgot his wife's name. Got his ex-wife mixed up with E. Jean Carroll. Thought Obama was running against him. Froze up during a recent rally and made a weird noise like he was having a movement. But, yeah, let's fear-monger Biden's cognitive state for the benefit of the radical right.
Kevin McCarthy, who was Speaker of the House for about as long as it takes me to clean the cat box, was complaining that the Biden white house is so depressing. How so? Every time someone comes into the Oval Office, Biden offers them cookies. He always has cookies around. That's depressing? I wish I could make White House cookies.
Biden gave a speach in Wisconsin today. He was all fired up, like he just had a Red Bull enema, hmm. He only made one gaff. He forgot what year this is, called it 2020.
