Good news is it looks like OSU baseball didn't have the same exodus the other sports did. I was a little scared it was going to continue.

    Actually, several players are transferring.

Rumor is that the Beavs will be unveiling new football uniforms this week.

No big losses or mass exodus. Only 4 of the players played in a game past year.

I understand why the vast majority of Beaver fans hate Smith right now. But I don't. He made a career move that was best for him, a career upgrade, a move that pretty much EVERY coach would have done in his same situation given what has happened with OSU and WSU and the Pac 2. If fans were faced with a similar situation in their own careers/jobs, I'll bet the vast majority would have done the same thing Smith did. So fans hating on Smith are being hypocritical in my opinion. GO BEAVS!

...on the other hand, he can still make that decision and go about it in a much better way -- and for that, he can fuck right off :dunno: like many have expresssed, its not that he left but how he left.

as a Duck fan who has watched the departures of Chip Kelly, Willie Taggart, and Mario Cristobal....and has paid attention to when other coaches of other teams leave for greener pastures...I do not believe there are good ways of leaving. There will always be bitterness in the wake, especially for football coaches because with the season and recruiting calendars being always percolating all year, there is no good time for leaving...it always hurts

100%. We were his alma mater. He absolutely should have handled it better and more sensitive than he did. Especially when players have said they knew it was happening which contributed to derailing our season. Donating the clothes to the corvallis goodwill was really lame.

I don't think anyone here is arguing against the career move made. There are multiple reasons that made sense. Unfortunately for us as Beavers fans.

Just the way he handled it can fuck right off.

I agree. He could of handled it much much better. But in this day and age with social media etc, it's close to impossible to keep things hush hush and not have rumors leak out.

He donates a ton of his Beaver gear at the end of every season because he gets all new gear the following season. It only made the news this time because of the situation.
