Recently released Hornets player balls out, could make team regret waiving him
The Charlotte Hornets waived Bryce McGowens, but then, he had a great game in Summer League.

The Charlotte Hornets might regret their latest move. The team recently released Bryce McGowens, but he is still playing for their Summer League team. And in their latest game, he balled out.
McGowens led the way in Charlotte’s win over China, dropping a game-high 20 points. He also added two rebounds, three assists, and one steal, shooting 4-of-8 from the floor and 12-of-14 from the free-throw line.
The fact that he’s even still on the Hornets’ Summer League roster speaks to their liking for the young wing, especially since Pokusevski isn’t on the roster.

At just 21 years old, McGowens still fits into the Hornets’ current timeline, and since they likely aren’t going to be competing for the postseason next year, they should want to get a look at as much young talent as possible.

McGowens is 6-foot-7 and a nifty ball-handler. He just hasn’t been very efficient up to this point in his career, but that’s true for a lot of young players.

If another team picks up McGowens on a two-way contract before the Hornets can get him back, then they could end up regretting losing him. Especially in the middle of a clear rebuild.

    Never seen Bryce play.
    Stat check:
Cornhusker, 3rd year, 6'6", listed 179lbs. Played ~60 games last season, mostly bench, 15m, 5pts, 2reb, 1ast, with a handful of defensive stops. No technicals, no flagrants. Seems like a nice young man.

Would you trade Ant for Herro? I wouldn't...

... since we HATE Miami now, send Anfernee over for there for bookoo goodies in a 3-way, then listen to Heat fans squirm after Herro & Simons keep giving up wide open dunks.

Sure, I'll take their picks. I'd love that.

Jaylon Tyson is very strong and skilled but man, his decision making is painful.

Showed up at Cal whenever I watched him and seeing it again here in SL.

Got the ball a lot last year so assist numbers were nice but man, he's a really frustrating player to watch for me.

I don’t want to brag or anything, but I just turned $20 into $36 playing blackjack.

    Oh yeah….

My son and I are heading over to the arena now to catch some games. With my extra cash, I should now be able to afford the large nacho with extra cheese!!

Shooting looks very real for Tristan Da Silva.

He's fluid but a pretty limited athlete. Doesn't rebound. Emoni has been able to get a half step on him a few times which is not a good sign.

He's smart, fluid and a good shooter with nice size though so he has a chance.

Jett looks like a specialist only still to me. Physically overwhelmed out there but an absolutely ridiculous shooter.

Ant Black's jumper mechanics have got even more of a sling to it to the right side of his head than I remember seeing last year which is a big departure from how he shot at Arkansas where he had a low set point from in front of his face. Going in though, nice one off the dribble and looks fluid at least. Still gets stuck a lot as a scorer and I wish he looked more natural as a playmaker. Too often sees things late. Or just doesn't have the ability just to deliver the ball on time from certain angles / positions on the floor.

Jay huff is such a fun dunker for his size

looked like a slight double dribble, but we'll just call it a bucket in Summer League

John Butler Jr. nails a 3 with the assist from Sarr.
