I ventured into this thread as well, and shocked at the Biden supporters that seem to be in an alternate reality. It mirrors the Foxnews people in my life but from the other side that had their head buried in the sand over the last decade with delusional perception of reality. Regardless of ones own personal opinion of Trump vs Biden, and I've always personally despised Trump, - I don't understand how the Biden supporters here seem to think he has a chance in the election? Biden base is splintering, Democrat party leaders are not siding with him, major donors are withholding money, horrible poll numbers vs Trump, long time supporters such as George Clooney are backing away, the general public is mocking him. I just don't see how any Biden supporters can believe he has a realistic chance to win a general election in November? Personally as I said I despise Trump but I just don't believe Biden is fit to continue to serve. Not sure what I'll do to vote, I'll probably still vote Biden but perhaps instead I'll go third party. But what about the millions that don't lean as democrat as me or all the independent votes Biden needs to get for a victory? There is not a realistic path to capture enough of those votes.
So, again, what policies or actions make him the worst? What actual policy change of Biden's was harmful? *Edit* Maybe something worse than saying COVID wasn't a problem? And telling the population that it was over... After which COVID literally killed over a million Americans.
1. Polling shows Biden still has a chance. They are tied. 2. Why do you think a guy that tried to take over the government and failed once as president who says he wants to suspend the Constitution would have a realistic chance to win? There are two issues with your post. First, you're basing what you think is pragmatic campaign philosophy on what it was 50 years ago. Second, have put yourself under the false impression that the election is unary -- that Biden is running against some abstract perfect idea of a presidential candidate. It's a binary equation, though -- Biden is running against Trump. Those are your choices. Biden or Trump. If you don't vote Biden, you get Trump. Got that? If people just realized that being focused on the real danger of Trump being president takes all the air out of the chicken littling of Biden winning the election, Biden wins the election, and it's not hard to see why. He's accomplished more as president than Trump. He stands for the Constitution where Trump does not. Trump is even worse cognitively than Biden and a horrible human being on top of it. Your real question is "How does Trump win this election?"
His border policies. I would mention his foreign policies, but it's not clear to me it would have been different under Trump, and I don't think they are "his". I don't think the border policy is "his" either, but he is technically in charge.
What about them? You seem to be big on saying you don't like something but you're very happy to tell us you don't know stuff about things. I guess the other question to ask you would be this: What do you think of Trump instructing the Republicans in Congress not to sign onto a bipartisan, popular border policy that Biden would have signed, admittedly because Trump didn't want the issue to be resolved under Biden? Doesn't that seem to be poor policy, not solving an issue that is the foundation of your campaign just because you don't want it to be solved when the other guy is president? Wouldn't that make all these lives Trump said are being lost to illegal immigrants now blood on his hands? I mean, the situation could have been solved. He told them not to do it.
That bill included billions of dollars in funding for Ukraine, along with a pittance for "border security", which was not needed. The POLICIES are what was allowing the mass migration, the policies need to change. Talk to the people responsible for actually trying to enforce our border security and they'll tell you the same thing. That bill was really just a ploy to divert responsibility. It would be like if I went up and asked you to give me $100 to stop pissing on your lawn, and then proclaimed that your refusal was an indication that you actually don't mind me pissing on your lawn. You lefties fall for these ploys too easily.
Seems like your trying to argue with me that Trump is horrible, I personally agree, that's not the issue. Biden has a massive lack of support from his own party we've never seen in history of presidential elections. Trump has full support of his party. It's just delusional to think Biden has a good realistic chance at reelection if he and his party continue on the current path. Look at the betting odds which has real cash behind it and is not an echo chamber spin zone. Trump is the betting favorite. Biden is a +700 underdog. If your confident Biden has a good chance to win go bet $100 - you can win $700 profit. Remember those betting books have a large margin for profit, so if they're giving you a 1-7 payoff his actual chance to win is projected at much less than 1/7 chance.
I think it's delusional to watch some shows and say it's delusional to think Biden has a realistic chance of reelection based on party support because that means you haven't been watching the actual polls or the number of Republicans and conservatives that say they aren't supporting Trump. Biden had about the worst two weeks he could have. And he's still tied in the polls. And, unlike Trump, he actually has an upside. He hasn't consolidated his base yet. Trump's base is what it is. I think your point is fair, but right now you are stuck only applying it in one direction. The actual facts don't support your conclusion.
The bill was put forth by a Republican and it didn't lose because of Ukraine spending or anything like that. There are actual quotes from Republican congressional leaders saying it didn't pass because Trump told them not to pass it. You're making stuff up now. You talk about other people not being in touch with reality and there actually are people on your own team that will tell you what you posted was wrong. Good lord, Beast. You really don't understand this stuff. Listening to what Trump tells you is actually the worst way to take a position on lawmaking.
You didn't comprehend what I wrote. It was Biden's EXECUTIVE ORDERS that caused the crisis in the first place. That bill included $60 billion to Ukraine, which many republican's oppose, and 650 million to border security. You have to be a fucking neuro-divergent to not understand the game here.
Your posting in incomprehensible. The stuff at the border has been going on for decades, ever since we destabilized Central America. And, BTW, McCarthy told Biden to take care of it through executive orders. Biden said he wanted a bi-partisan bill. You are a human pretzel. You never bothered to even find out what happened or what is happening. You ARE the border problem.
Biden gets credit and blame for the specific policy changes he signs and supports. What specific border policy? What specific bill? What executive order? If he's the worst it should be pretty simple to find something worse than any prior president...
Your continued use of the "R' word, despite being warned by the mods not to calls for you to be banned. It is a disgusting use of the word and makes you disgusting for using it. Grow up kid. You'll never succeed being a constant asshole.
I also love how we've gone from "Wanting to secure the border is racist!" to actually blaming the crisis on republicans. You people are unreal.
Whoa. Wait wait wait. So you're saying the people the US elite pay to do our manual labor (which requires the use of all manner of tools and equipment), configure out how to go over under around and through a wall? Who could have guessed?
Like I said somewhere on this board, the guy doesn't realize with the ignorance of every post he not only shows how poorly informed he is but what kind of person he is. When they show you who they are, believe them.
And all of this while the data clearly shows that illegal immigrants commit crime at lower rates than US citizens.
